Thunder Force Inspired Shooter. Homages to retro shooting games. At the beginning of the game, you'll only be capable of shooting in front and behind your ship, but by acquiring weapons from the item carriers that appear during each stage, you'll gain access to lasers, homing shots and more. Defeating enemies in rapid succession increases the score multiplier gauge up to a maximum of x8, with larger and more durable enemies offering a speed-kill bonus equal to x4 of your current score multiplier (maximum x32). The ending can be reached by clearing all six stages, and you can watch a replay of your run from the main menu.

Better as a count-the-shmup-references game than ZeroRanger, and a better Thunder Force game than any Thunder Force that I've played. A very bright and bold little shooter that packs a simple but punchy scoring system (kill enemies fast!!) and a bunch of style considering its very homebrew, minimal-pixels aesthetic.

This shit is free and I'm guessing it will run on anything, so run don't walk if you're craving a little console-STG-flavored action. https://zakichi.itch.io/vastynex

First time since Sonic Mania that a game evoked that dumb fanboy reaction of "YO IS THAT A REFERENCE TO WHAT I THINK IT IS"

Good shooter overall too, maybe better than the real TF games if just for being 10x more approachable but I do think it lacks the evil memorization-based challenge of the real thing.
