Wacky Worlds Creativity Studio is a video game for the Sega Genesis released in 1994 under the Sega Club line for younger children. In it, the player has a choice of six different Wacky Worlds in which they can place animated "stickers", creating a two-dimensional diorama, of sorts. Among the Worlds are an underwater scene, a scene inside a house, a jungle, and the Moon. This game is considered a Sonic the Hedgehog property, as he appears on the cover of the box. Sonic also pilots the flying saucer that is used to choose a Wacky World to play in. He also appears in a small portrait sticker for the default sticker book in the house scene. Miles "Tails" Prower and Ecco the Dolphin appear on the box of the game as well. This game was made to compete with Nintendo's Mario Paint.

I got this for my tenth birthday and while I'll always have a nostalgic bias towards it, I also have to admit that there's barely any content here. The music section has a surprising amount of depth for something so simple but out of all the games to play on the Genesis, why in the name of all that is holy would you play one that struggles to provide enough content for half an hour?

While their is a good amount of options for creativity it was greatly lacking compared to other edutainment art programs even at the time. Also the game lacks Sonic elements.

This is much more of an activity more than a game, and came with a mouse. It features six themed worlds: A sci-fi planet, fantasy kingdom, halloween, safari, dolls house and underwater. You can place stickers throughout the level. Some of these stickers are animated and you can recolour them. For the visual aspect of the game, that’s it. I made an image of Tails being attacked by a Metroid.

The other mode of the game is a music maker, but I couldn’t figure out how to use it to make anything good.

Considering that this came out a few years after Mario Paint, this is extremely bare bones and doesn’t even feature any actual drawing.

I see a bit of hatred here so I feel a need to bring some positivity to this game's page.

Wacky Worlds as competition to Mario Paint of course looks a bit laughable, you can only move around stickers on backgrounds and can only create music out of premade samples. I also kind of want to blame this game for inspiring at least a few young people into creating their own Sonic OCs, because yes Tails is a sticker in this and yes you can absolutely recolor him to make your stupid Blue Tails OC. I was not one of these people, I assure you.

Despite all of its shortcomings, I still had some fun with this game back then and appreciate it. The stickerbook shit of course is boring especially by adult standards, and it has been outdated as soon as I was able to keep a sketchbook and a pencil nearby for superior creative output. The music thing though? I still think it's pretty cool, it's obviously all premade shit and not individual notes, but I love the sound of the Genesis/MD so much that I really don't care all that much. I may not be able to recreate F-Zero music in this thing, but all I need to hear is synthy guitar noise and my ear is pleased.

To sum this up, I would rather fuck with the music thing in this game for an hour than play Heavy Nova for three minutes.

I found this at a thrift for $2 and...What even is this? It's not a video game, it's slow and clunky to control...there's nothing you really do here, and it lacks the versatility of Mario Paint. You just drag and drop characters into scenes and that's it. The music part isn't anywhere close to Mario Paint's music studio, you just rearrange the game's existing songs. Not even Sonic characters, Sonic only appears on the World Select and nowhere else. Tails is on the box but as far as I know, not even in the game! Feels like Sonic's face was just slapped on there as a marketing move to fool poor kids into buying this garbage.

The music is okay but there is absolutely zero reason to ever play this.
