Warriors Orochi has always been a very interesting and peculiar little series.
What originally started as a humble crossover between the "final" ps2 warriors game to end off the generation, very quickly turned into another mainline Warriors franchise for Koei and turned into a celebration of not only Warriors but Koei Tecmo as a whole.
So here's how 4 differs from what came prior: It's still a celebration of the series but... it's more like... how do I say this? A celebration of what's bad about Warriors games and Koei Tecmo's cheapness?

The best Dynasty Warriors game to date, especially when you're unhappy with the direction the series went in with DW9. A humongous cast of characters with a slew of interesting new ones and many maps to play through. It's not very sophisticated in its story or mechanics, but let's be honest, that's not what you play DW games for.
Considering I haven't played any other Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors games prior, I can admit that I'm definitely at a loss with all the characters. However, regardless of my lack of knowledge overall, this is still a great game. Something about Warriors games just feel good to play, you know? You get to feel really strong and have a fun time just taking out hordes of enemies.
Tough one to rate. The fighting's as good as it has been for a while, but everything around it isn't great. The story's worthless, over half of the characters are useless, everyone takes too long to unlock (Xiahou Dun right at the end?) and once you finally unlock everyone that's it for the story, and there's nothing else to do apart from going for higher ranks.
