Worms Armageddon was originally developed as an expansion pack to Worms 2 and initially titled Wormageddon before it was released as a standalone game. Worms Armageddon was acclaimed by critics, who praised the refined gameplay and stylized graphics, and it has been featured in a number of "greatest games of all time" lists. Worms Armageddon is still updated periodically as of 2020, and was released on the Steam platform in 2013.

There's a reason this is still being updated after over twenty years: this is the best Worms game they will probably ever make, and my favorite strategy game hands down. The massively customizable settings and maps ensure that no two games are ever alike, and the arsenal is so robust that practically every weapon can be a difference maker depending on how you use it.

Worms Armageddon is just one of those games that smacks you in the face as soon as you open it. Its loud, its colourful and its such a joyful chaotic mess. Playing this with friends is one of the most tense but fun times you can have thanks to the incredibly brazen designs, the huge variety of weapons and tactics on offer and the sort of gameplay loop that makes you just want to constantly have 'one more game' in order to really prove that you're the best at it.
Thrown in a generous customisation mode with a variety of silly voices and its a fun time all around. The 'only' reason this is a 4/5 and not higher is simply because its the Ps1 version and with that comes some load times and little issues that's been completely ironed out on the PC edition. Still a great game.

This was my introduction to the Worms series at a family friends house, and my brother got ahold of it somehow after that for us. Simple gameplay concept, but the humor really elevated it. Loved the super sheep and holy hand grenade, or changing the voices to make all my worms extremely Scottish. I think my favorites were the challenges where you had to figure out how to wipe out a select number of targets with limited resources
