We're dealing with a genuine gonzo masterpiece here.

The recent trend of puzzle/mystery/deduction games that has cropped up over the years since Return of the Obra Dinn released has quickly become my favorite game genre maybe ever. There's just something so rewarding about these intricately designed game worlds that leave all of the progression up to your ability to collect and piece together knowledge within them. I particularly think these types of games are better than most co op games when I am looking for something to play with my partner. Using both of our normal brains as one gigantic brain and talking everything out together is about as fun as any multiplayer game could possibly get. After filling up 20+ notebook pages, I feel pretty confident that Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is the best one of these babies yet.

I won't go in to too much detail because this is definitely one of those games that you can't really talk about without spoiling. The puzzles, the way you interact with the world, and even that narrative itself are really meant for you to put together yourself. I would love to say literally anything I could to sell people on this game but the more you know going in, the more the experience is undercut. I will say that the music, atmosphere, puzzles, writing, and basically everything in this is totally superb. There isn't a single part of this that feels out of place which is remarkable given how aesthetically varied it gets throughout. Getting lost in this surrealistic monochromatic puzzle box hotel feels familiar, daunting, frightening, and exciting all in the same breath. I genuinely could not stop thinking about this game until we finished it. Felt like a genuine maniac.

When it comes to the type of freak shit I get in to, this is one of the most perfectly designed games I have ever played. Truly nothing in it gets in the way or feels unnecessary. The only think you could levy against this is the weird one button control scheme which, if I'm being generous (I am cause I love it), adds to the charm of navigating this confusing hotel.

I'm prone to saying stuff like this but as for real as I can possibly be, this easily one of the best games I have ever played.

Signorina, this is a gosh darn masterpiece!

Beautiful puzzler game, what is art in capitalism? how it affects us? How it creates our reality?

It's not just cool art direction and an interesting story, the level design and the puzzles are all used to tell it in an interesting way.

Loves numbers and mazes a little bit too much!
