Such an unfortunate end to the best era of fortnite. The mechs, Nerfing turbo build, Adding back zombies and taco time bring this season down so much. However the map changes for the most part were really cool, especially the no build tilted and borderlands area and of course bringing back dusty depot and factories. Battle pass was pretty good I like most of the skins especially the female drift. The mechs ruined it though there were so painfully unbalanced it was shocking. The event was pretty good though and the black hole was really interesting. End of an era
Season X is a really divisive Fortnite season because of all of the Mechs in the game, that were super overpowered. And the reaction Season X got, is very similar to the situation happening with Chapter 5 Season 3.
As a whole, it was a cool idea, this was the original Fortnite OG season, the entire Battle Pass was remixes of old Fortnite Battle Pass skins, the map brought back old POI's, and it was a genuine callback to original Fortnite.
And a lot of that was really cool, and the Battle Pass was really cool, but the main issue were the Mechs. There were not many of them, and they could move so fast, take so many shots, deal so much damage, and break through your builds so fast.
There weren't many counters to them, and that was really unfun. Getting into that Mech with a buddy, and destroying everyone in your path, was really fun. The fun-ness just depended on if you were the Mech, or if you were fighting the Mech.
As a final season to Chapter 1, I think it did its best. I do like the chaotic side of it, but at times it did get overwhelming, and unfun because of that.
Overall: 6/10

Jesus christ alive. I'm gonna start with the good first because there's certainly a lot of bad. The throwback/time theme was sick and this is by far the best battle pass in the entire game. The remixed skins were genius and they did them just right while honoring the simplicity of their inspiration and they all look great, and it is a damn shame that I never got to complete it but I had my reasons. The return of old locations and the gigantic meteor in the sky was fucking sick. And the live event was the best in the game by far, (best of all time too, I mean they got Hans Zimmer to score the damn thing, that's sick as fuck) it was truly an unforgettable experience and the black hole was silent, but beautifully intense. That's where the praises end. Fuck the goddamn mechs dude. Why. Even with nerf after nerf they were an unstoppable powerhouse. If you didn't get a mech, you fucking died, that's it, end of story. What a shit show. The special events at POIs were a cool concept, but they all sucked ass lets be honest (fuck taco time). Loot pool was absurd this season, there was just wayyyy too much stuff so getting genuinely good weapons took far too long but the traversal was still pretty good (I still prefer it over the current state of the pool with like 15 total items though). If you ask any well versed Fortnite player what the worst season was, there is a good chance they'll say its this one, but I'll have to disagree.
