Was honestly surprised by this entry in the Lego series as I'm not the biggest fan of the Jurassic Park series and heard this game wasn't all that great anyway, and while this game does have some flaws relating to its open world, mechanics relating to dinosaurs, and some of its presentation. I found myself actually enjoying this game more than I expected.
Levels are enjoyable and all feel pretty fun to play, and the open world while essentially being built like long hallways with rooms connected is actually kind of enjoyable to explore and collect in. Not only that but this game has a lot of respect for the source material, and this really feels like they were going for the definitive Jurassic Park game with the amount of detail they put into it.
One of the weirdest decisions in this game however was the what the direction they took with the voice-acting. Typically I don't mind whether the characters talk or mumble but in this game specifically, most dialog is clipped directly from the movies which makes everyone sound really odd and includes a lot of noticeable grain and background noise, and personally it was really distracting and bothered me my whole play-through. The game for some reason also has this real obsession with QTEs and it gets a little ridiculous how much you will be spamming buttons or spinning the control stick to do the simplest of tasks. It's little touches like that that really brings down the game for me and makes it feel a little unfinished and sloppy, however Lego Jurassic World is by no means a bad entry and is honestly a pretty solid time.
