My patriotism has grown to unholy levels.

Koei knew what they were doing when it came to strategy games of this era with the various Asian focused series they had developed by this point. It's a bit disappointing that their foray into the American Revolutionary War feels so flat here. It's not bad, it's just very derivative and somewhat on the simpler side as far sims like these go.

It's appropriate that the game developers chose the Patrick Henry quote for the title because you won't find much freedom in the gameplay and before you're done you'll likely wish for death.

One of my favorite games from my child hood. I played this game so many teams.. Beat the game once as the British which was tough and beat it numerous times as the Americans. Very fun strategic combat.. slowly taking over the map. Training and arming your soldiers. Commanders having ratings etc. An early gem set in an awesome period!
