Crisper graphics and redubbed voice work enhance the original's gameplay. The control scheme has been reworked due the PSP having fewer buttons to work with. It worked fine with the PS4 controller but having just replayed the original, it was a little jarring and took time to get used to again.

Buenos juegos , pero no son de mi agrado

A bit of a rough port in some places. Obviously in the process of bringing Ape Escape to the PSP, the iconic Dualshock functionality of the game is sacrificed due to the lack of a 2nd stick on a handheld. The way this is remedied is by limiting gadget selection to only Triangle, Circle, and Square and instead of having X as a 4th Gadget option, it's now a jump button. I don't mind X being remapped from R1 to X as it just feels better, but not being able to use the 2nd stick for gadget use and instead having to tap the face button just makes it feel awkward. You get use to it after a while, but it's not ideal. Other than that, it's still Ape Escape. Same levels, gadgets, monkey total. There are 2 new minigames, and that's nice, but no huge additions. The game does also have a nice set of new graphic enhancments which does make it look nice. If you're fine with the control sacrifices, this is a perfectly serviceable version of Ape Escape, but I'd still recommend the original over this one any day.
