You know what time it is? Time to do an overly detailed review for a hentai game that I've played!
Getting this game installed and to run on a non-japanese PC was a huge undergoing... Before I learned that there is this little modification called "AA2 Unlimited". But that's not going to influence this review. Just a little hint, if you ever want to dive into this eroge.
So yeah... What is this wonderful game called Artificial Academy 2, that is totally not obviously some pervy game, indicated by a girl on the game's cover flashing her panties while having a condom wrapper in her mouth. Jokes aside, yes it's a hentai game, combined with a school simulation.
The school is filled with up to 25 students (or more like 24 students and 1 teacher) that the player can insert themselves in. The cool thing actually is, that the player has the ability to create their own characters in an enclosed character editor.
Normal for a character editor the player can choose the name, gender, skin-, hair- and eye colors (heterochromia included) and the hairstyle (which is divided into front, side, back and extra parts, so you can combine a huge amount of hairstyles). As this is a lewd game, these are obviously not your only options. Girls also have some sliders and options for their breasts, while both gender also have some options for pubes. When you're finished creating their designs, you can then give them three personal items (they don't do anything, they are just some flavor text that can be traded in social interactions), choose their sexual orientation, give them a personality and traits as well as fetishes.
When you're finished with creating characters, you can then put them into the class and start playing. Don't worry, you can also always add or remove students between each day. Between each day, the player is at home, where they can save and edit the class at night, while they can change the character they're playing during the day. After leaving their home, they can move around the station and school in a point & click like style. The player is free in how he wants to spend the time before and between each lesson, as the day is split into multiple parts: the time before school starts, in which a lot of students will arrive at school; the lunch break before PE or swim class; the break before club activities and the evening after school. Time passes either in real time, whereas the game progresses faster whenever the player uses various interactions. During these times the player can interact with each girl or boy in the class and socialize with them and if they're lucky enough start a relationship with them and get them in their bed... Or more like... Everywhere in the school, because without mods you can't really even bring her home... Though there exists 2 scenarios where the player can have sex at their location: a successful lewd promise (meaning they succeeded in their exams that are every 2 weeks, while they had this promise going on) or when they get asked if they want to study at their home while they're in a horny state.
The actual school simulation part is pretty flat. The lessons themselves are just three options each, with each having a different level progression in either the knowledge or strength skill and a different success-rate, and the social-phases between each lesson are also not that deep. The player can talk about 5 topics, whereas they can only use each topic 3 times before the NPCs get bored (but this counter gets reset every lesson). On Sundays, players can go on a date, which is however just a simple text box that tells you how the date went before skipping to the evening phase of Sunday. But how about the H-Gameplay?
The player can choose between various sex positions, which are sorted in various categories: female pleasuring (fingering, cunnilingus, ...), male pleasuring (blowjob, handjob, ...), pleasuring both partners at the same time, vaginal intercourse and anal intercourse, as well as climax categories that become visible the moment you choose the first position. Some positions and climax actions are locked at the beginning and become unlocked the higher the sex compatibility gets between both partners. The player can rise this by using positions that both characters enjoy, which are determined by their fetishes.
This gameplay loop stays somewhat interesting until you reached the point where you basically dated the whole school and had your way with everyone. This is however a pretty hard task as every single character seems to be the most jealous person on earth, as your partners will interrupt you, while you just try to talk to any other person. If any of your partners have the "evil" trait, this also becomes somewhat of a challenge, as they're literally yandere character, killing you for cheating.
This also brings me to the next point. Is there any ending, besides getting killed? Well if you cum enough into a girl, during her risky days, she can get pregnant, and you can trigger a special ending there and if you're playing as the teacher and get caught having sex, you can get fired. Other than that, it's open end. So enjoy living your endless horny school life!
The backgrounds are nicely designed, and the 3D characters are also nice to look at... During dialogues and H-scenes, because otherwise they will always be low poly versions of themselves. Considering how it always takes a short time to load the high-res model in, whenever they're loaded, it is not strange. The strange thing is, that it takes so long to load. My PC isn't stuttering for loading in NPCs in any open world game, but it takes a short, but noticeable time for loading in a single random girl? The same also applies when changing the state of their clothes during sex, which also takes a small-time to load, between transitions. The sound design is ok. The soundtrack does its job, but isn't outstanding (but can actually be replaced), the voice acting is nice and every single dialogue is voiced, but the sound effects can get repetitive. The UI sounds are fine but the H-SFX are somewhat over the top, which is ok here, but way more out of place in their other games like Honey Select, where they reuse the same sound assets again.
Would I recommend this game?
If you ever wanted to lewd your OCs in a school setting, go for it. If H-games are not your type, why even bothering checking this review in the first place?
If you're going to play this title, just make sure to download an uncensored patch for a better experience. (Oh, and a translation patch!)

Also to mention is how weird the community is, one moment there's a place that everyone gathers to and then it disappears a week later. Suspicious if you ask me. As for the game itself... It's alright I guess, definitely one of those "the modding community carries it" games.
