Charming in some ways, but I'm not big into the idol genre when it comes to storytelling, so all that's left to sustain me is the rhythm gameplay. It's fun, but the gacha elements makes it so grindy and extrinsically-motivated that it chokes out any enjoyment I'd get from just playing the songs. My being a completionist probably also has something to do with it.
I started playing Bandori because Nikki told me it was cool and then I became addicted to playing the songs on normal difficulty and getting full combos it never felt boring I literally played this game for a week straight in July 2023 just to get like 21st on the leaderboard for an event where I met a homie who was also grinding, I would always record these cover songs and add them to my playlist and this game inspired me to play project sekai and also change my entire music taste, also I'm now literally insane at this game I can clear level 27 songs because im just that goated
