It's not bad, but man it is lacking. What is (right now) a very solid sandbox works as intended, but for me, there is very little to do past say 4-5 fight modes or so, because from there, and exploring the map, there is little else the game has right now. The gameplay and mechanics are very good don't get me wrong, but as I am playing through Steam Family right now I have literally no reason to buy the game, im not interested in doing so until the game itself has an actual gamemode after 5 years. While at the end of the day it is the best feeling VR title out, that does not make it something I can find myself spending hours playing as of now.
As far as VR games go, honestly there's only so many good ones. This one is good. It's a very freeform game, you just swing melee weapons around and kill NPCs. But said melee weapon swinging is very immersive: your weapons have weight and momentum, armor will block certain weapons, and the AI is getting better at fighting over and over. In theory an update next year will have a story mode where you unlock and store weapons in your house for some actual progression instead of just sandboxery, which I'm very excited for. But even now, the game is very worth a purchase if you have a headset!
U10 review - while the game is starting to get real content now in the way of dungeons, B&S is really a base for the mods that make the game as wonderful as it is. While that's not necessarily a bad thing, it should be considered before buying.
B&S does a good job of implementing solid physics without letting it be a hinderance to the game, and if I ever really just want to vent without getting 20 to life it is there for me... but in the end it's a wave fighter with not much happening without mods. Huge recommend if you're okay with that.
