playing this after half life alyx makes me never want to go back to that game which is why im rating it only a 9/10

One of the best vr games ever made i hope they make a sequel thats the best vr game of all time

A little janky at times, but a fantastic game. One of the first true achievements of the genre.

This is where VR should be headed.

Played with HTC Vive headset and Knuckles (Index Controllers)

I've been with VR since the rough start, as I had a HTC Vive since it came out and haven't upgraded, so I've beat Boneworks before when it came out and played lots of it since then, so when a friend gifted me a pair of their old Index controllers I decided I'd do a replay of Boneworks to test it out.

Now as I've said I have played Boneworks before and in fact I've actually got all the achievements and most of the collectable items, so clearly I really love this game. It has so much optional content and it's defintley worth doing it all, from the Arena to the bonus levels like the hoverjunkers level. They updated the game post launch to add lots of extra levels and such and they clearly cared and I kinda wish Bonelabs received a similar treatment, I get why it hasn't don't get me wrong I just think the game should've been delayed a year this is getting side tracked anyhow.

The main campagin can be pretty short if you know what you're doing but they're all super unique and fun to explore, and as the first big VR game with a campaign it's defintely one of the best. I'm leaving this review spoiler free because if you haven't played it and own a VR headset then you need to play this, though word of advice is that if you use a Vive controller then you will get hand cramps, maybe quest is similar but at least with the Vive it actually hurts your hand since it isn't really designed to be played with the vive though it does work.

It's my 3rd Favourite VR game only H3VR and HLA beat it out for me , but not much is better than those two. I wouldn't say that it's worth getting a VR headset just to play this game, but if you already had one then it's defintley worth getting and you owe it to yourself to play it, it's a super unique experiance with lots of extra content to play after the campaign, though the campagin is super replayable too. It's close to Half-Life level design as well so it's basically another VR Half Life game, Alyx is better but they're very different games, even still the level design and approach to lots of game design is clearly inspired by Half-Life which is a very very good thing.

BTW if you get motion sick easy then DON'T play this game, it's super easy to get motion sick in this especially if you're not used to VR.

(Also btw the Knuckles are super great controllers for VR defintley my fav, and yes I still call them the Knuckles I know they're techincally the Index Controlelrs but I've only known them as the Knuckles so that's what they are)

100% up there when it comes to vr games the only thing that holds it back are the enemies

8.4 - A wonderful VR experience

I want to vomit playing it, the game's good tho

It's pretty good for a tech demo.

Excellent foundation for a game. I can't wait for the full thing to come out.

fucking phenomenal vr game. 100% in my top three, probably third but still.

A fantastic title, but comes up short regarding the story, having me confused throughout, especially towards the end as everything begins to break down. Sandbox oddly enough feels empty and void of personality, despite it having great potential. Buy it, mess around with it, and maybe revisit it later in life. If you're wanting something of continuous play value, Garry's Mod is perfect for that.

Boneworks is one of my first VR games I played and i sure as hell remember the horror of those face hugger things as they jump on my head and drinking my fluids

One of if not the greatest and most innovative VR games to date. In my opinion this game did to VR what games like half life did to pc shooter games.

This game had one of the best campaigns I’ve ever played. I’m so glad I was able to play this. The campaign of this game was so much better than the Bonelab campaign in every single way. The story was easier to keep up with, the levels were bigger, longer and more open, and puzzles were tricky but not overly complicated. In terms of a campaign, Boneworks is far better, but in terms of modding, Bonelab is far better.

One of the best and most freeing VR experiences ever. Even better when played with fusion in Lab Works

This game made me realize how cumbersome a simulated body is in VR. A good starting point, though.

Great singleplayer VR game with insane physics and gunplay. insanely immersive and just overall fun to mess around in

(copied from my steam review)
Boneworks is, if not, one of the best single-player VR games I have ever played in my list so far. It takes a lot for me to actually get immersed into a game, and for the first time in awhile, Boneworks does that. The amount of interactions you can have between the props, levels, weapons, enemies and yourself is indefinite. Feel the need to absurdly stab the hell out of someone? Do it against the enemy nords or null bodies. Want to have the feeling of those head crabs from Half Life jumping onto your head? Well you have come to the right place. Some of the puzzles will have you think a bit harder than you need to. The game doesn't need gimmicky visuals to pull you in... it does it with the subtle, easy to follow and interesting story. Even without the need of special effects or amazing visuals, the graphics and levels will make you look around and enhance that feeling of "Being in the Matrix". Boneworks is not a $60 overpriced single player game that's short lived. $30 for this title is a mere steal, especially if it's on sale. I absolutely recommend this game. 10/10

More robust and focused than its successor, super smooth gameplay and phsyics.

I cant play this game without feeling physically sick within the span of 5 minutes

Probably my most played vr game love it

Every time I smell ginger I remember chaining anti-nausea ginger candies while John Wicking through Boneworks, my first ever VR game. This game rules as a physics gunplay sandbox, and the campaign is really fun.

One of the most intense and demanding VR experiences you can play, this full physics simulation adventure game is evocative of Valve storytelling and humor while giving you unprecedented control over every bit of your movement. You definitely need VR sea legs for this one.

Very fun VR experience with an intense campaign that is both more in depth and enjoyable than Bone Lab. Also longer too. Steam reviews weren't kidding when they said this was better.

The only thing it's missing is shotguns and Bone Lab's inclusion of an instant mag release button but I'm willing to bet mods fixed that given how long this game has been out.
