The storytelling was a bit too dense at times but perhaps that's due to it being a setup chapter because at the end it had the same vibes as Undertale which I love.

I don’t know why so many people treat this like a full stand alone game and not an introduction to the game. As an introduction it’s great does everything it needs to do while still being entertaining
I'm not really sure where I got the impetus to replay Deltarune from, other than that I wanted a small game I could play over the few days before the release of Persona 3 Reload. I haven't touched Deltarune in two years but I was still able to beat Jevil first try on this playthrough, nice to know I've still got it.
Definitely the weaker of Deltarune's two chapters, but still a lot of fun. Great music, nice character development for Susie, though I think it only really finds its footing after she joins the party properly. Made me remember the release of Chapter 2, back when I still used social media, and all the theories and memes from the fanbase.

Not as good as Undertale but certainly has qualities that work very well. The world is very intriguing, the music is very good and Ralsei is a very likeable and charming, he was easily my favourite part. I'd say I liked Suzie but I was pretty torn on her, I liked what they were going for but it was executed as a typical "bully is mean but they're actually nice when you get to know them", I always appreciate a story like this but I think OMORI did a similar thing better.

A very good game with classic Undertale flavoring. The first game is very much a hand holding game to warm us up, and that's why I'm rating it a 4. If you don't mind the semi-linear manner of this game it'll be an even better experience for you.
The surprise drop made it so sensational on release. In retrospect, it's good, but the story isn't that captivating. It's playable enough to get you to Chapter 2, which is a much stronger title.

It uses the themes and ideas present in Undertale and completely flips them on their head. Well, Undertale was very much about the players affect within the world, this game is about the players affect on the main character.
To experience this game you have to take away Kris's agency and force them to do out of character things. You're the bad guy in Kris's eyes and that's a dynamic I've never really seen explored like this before.

it's really good, i'd say about as much as undertale, but it does feel kind of lacking without chapter 2.
Obviously doesn't feel like as much of a "Complete" story as Undertale but it's not supposed to (And it just, isn't). If 1/7th of a game can get a 90% I think that speaks to how good the game as a whole WILL be.

This title suffers from the “pilot problem.” It has to spend so much time establishing characters and world building that it takes the wind out of the sails of the story itself. Thankfully, chapter 2 is a major step up.
