a really awesome concept done better than expected. biggest complaint is that some of the characters could be handled a little better. i dont like when visual novels sort characters into clear archetypes (this is the sporty one, this is the shy awkward one, this is the nerdy one, etc) and with this being a gay dating simulator it tends to do all that as well as fall into stereotypes and memes. i didnt really feel attached to many of them. people are more complicated than that and it feels lazy for a game thats all about character interactions.
other than that, the art is beautiful and the dialogue is fun. its really cool how the dad dading simulator thing isnt just a gimick but actually adds a lot to the game. you have to balance your relationship with your daughter with getting back into dating as shes getting older and going into college. i wish all visual novels had an extra level of depth rather than just being high school romances. definitely worth playing even if youre not a fan of the genre.

The only male homo game to reach any kind of popularity because they treated everything as a meme to trick straight guys into playing it. It doesn't feel 100% authentically gay. It was made for the mainstream appeal, and I'm fine with that.
It has really nice graphics and it's pretty well written for the genre, the presentation is there, and it has some fun minigames!
On a personal basis, Brian is super hot and I love him, but his storyline is a bit weak because the main character acts like an idiot the whole time. Apparently it was going to be a chill romantic route hanging out fishing and listening to country radio, but they decided it was too chill, so they added the rivalry to add drama, and it's not very well written.
I'm not attracted to any of the other guys. They don't have dad bods, they were not made for the gays, so who gives a shit (Hugo is kinda cute though).

Dream Daddy is what I call a "God Tier" dating sim (full transparency I haven't played many). The characters are all well written and unique. Each Daddy has their own distinct personality and life that they live. Paired with a great soundtrack and a charming art style, I had a wonderful time finding my dream date. Mat was my dream come true when I played with friends. I'm not drawn to visual novels or dating sims very often so I haven't played this game since. But I can see myself going back to it one day soon to explore the other potential dating paths (and the Daddy's I'll meet along the way).
