More of that Dying Light goodness, but in a less urban setting and with vehicles. Despite being DLC, it could very well be it's own game.

Trippy and memorable story

RIP Kyle Crane.
Ironic, he is Harran hero. But, he is who destroyed the world. :(
Plot twist at the end. Damn.

Open world story driven zombie game, famous for its physics. You can chop off heads limbs etc, heaps of creative ways to kill zombies and it also has the night time gimmick, where if you are running around at night time you get more XP but the zombies are harder to kill (and theres more of them) and there are also these carnage looking monsters that chase you.

The problem was that it wasn’t scary, probably due to playing it co-op with a friend. I would imagine it would be more tense playing solo. I have to add that if you're a co-op player it was one of the smoothest experiences.

Very fun zombie game. The combat is great and the parkour is incredibly fun to do. Even better with friends!

Wow. Just wow. As I'm writing this review, i've just finished the story of the main campaign. Starting of with the story, it was on the better side for me, but not as alluring as i'd like. The gameplay is phenomenal. the abilities and such are amazing, the traversal system is one of the smoothest I've experienced. And just the sheer amount of content in the main game itself is overwhelming at times. Overall for me it's a goated game. (Have not gotten to playing The Following due to it crashing constantly on my pc for whatever reason)

This game is painfully, unfortunately mid. Not because it lacks merit as a game, or has no interesting ideas, but because it sabotages itself on a fundamental level. Pretty much every single cool or interesting idea or mechanical choice it contains is buried completely under an all encompassing, overbearing, irrevocably clunky fixation on filling the game with every single AAA, Games as a Service design cliche the developers could muster. There's almost a desperation to it; you can practically hear the developer begging you not to stop playing it, as they show you all their little compulsion loops and arrays of skill trees crying to be filled out, their awkward crafting and inventory management, their constantly spawning timed live events, their sidequests that put huge yellow objective text and waypoints on the screen at all times, and their whole department store full of ugly-looking unlockable skins. It all ends up being kind of sad, really, because this could have been a pretty dope zombie-dodging parkour game if the developers merely had confidence in the ability of their own game's core ideas to stand on their own.

The level/world design is the best part, followed by movement. The middle eastern city setting is pretty novel for a zombie story, the game looks pretty decent visually, and the parkour mechanics can feel cool when they actually work right (though playing it right after Mirror's Edge Catalyst did not do Dying Light any favors... but it's still solid). The day-night cycle and the tension that the looming threat of nocturnal monsters and the dark creates is genuinely cool, even if running from the monsters can be a bit janky and annoying in practice.

The combat would feel cool if it weren't for how obnoxiously damage spongy the enemies are, especially the humans. The kick is great, though. Love a good kick. If the weapons didn't have arbitrary feeling RPG stats, and instead were something more like Dead Rising and were all useful in their own ways, it would MASSIVELY improve the game. As it stands they tend to all feel like skins of the same 2 or 3 weapons, and that's boring as hell. The crafting is also boring. In a zombie game I'm not opposed to crafting by any means, because it can be a great mechanical tool to make the player feel like they are scavenging for survival and making do with what little resources they have available to them. But that requires restraint on the amount of crafting, actual limited resources, and meaningful choices to make about what you do with them. This game has none of that. So it just feels like busywork instead. They do not have the confidence to ever deny the player their trickle of little gamer treats.

I understand why people like this game. It gestures at some interesting immersive sim mechanics and is big and full of stuff, and some of that stuff is actually pretty cool. The parkour is neat and not too many games try that and get it right. I haven't tried the multiplayer but I could definitely see how playing with a friend could make certain parts of the game a lot more fun. But every time I started having fun the game would throw some kind of obnoxious obligatory feeling dog biscuit of game design at me and after I while it just became too annoying, tiring, and vaguely depressing to want to continue.

Maybe someday if want the game design equivalent of a big bowl of candy corn (too much sugar, kinda disconcertingly waxy, bad for you but weirdly addictive, a perverse simulacra created from the processed remains of the very thing it strives to recreate...), then I will return to this, perhaps with friends if I can rope them into it. But for now Dying Light is just not it.

Love this game so damn much. Played it about 4-5 times with different people. That's the thing. The coop is so fun. Speeding around in the dlc just felt so good I can't tell why. Absolutely recommend it if you want to play something with a friend.

Do NOT play this game solo! It's every other open-world game on the market that only differentiates itself with its parkour mechanics and night-time mechanics. The story is forgettable at best and annoying at worst.

Narrative: 2.5 - Gameplay: 4 - Visuals: 3 - Soundtrack: 3 - Time: 4

Well, it’s that kind of game that one needs to play with a friend, otherwise it’s just not enough. I had the luck to have a companion the whole journey, which made the experience real cool. However, it’s difficult, even then, to ignore the poor narrative and underwhelming environment. I guess the game doesn’t stand by itself at all.

This game has one thing going for it and thats the parkour (volatiles are kinda cool but still it ain't much). That is it. The story is very stupid, predictable and boring. Crane is a pretty shitty MC and to make things worse they go the cloning route for co op instead of unique characters like dead island. Pretty much everything dead island did good this game went backwards in other than movement. Even the weapon crafting feels lackluster compared to it. I am not sure how people can say DI is bad but say this is good. I think people ride techland a little bit too much. I will give them props for trying to improve the game through the following and other aspects but in the end it didn't save the game and it makes me think twice before looking at DL 2.

I have a love and hate relationship with this game. At first, I hated it, but once I got over the hard learning curve I loved it. Then I got bored with it. Then started hating it again, and rinse and repeat. Look the game has a strong foundation but it doesn’t really do anything well, making it a mediocre open world survival zombie whatever game. The melee combat is atrocious, it’s almost useless against human enemies who just parry and dodge everything.

One of my favourite zombie games ever. Satisfying combat, intense horror action moments, and a fluid parkour system.

Loved 😍
Masterpiece

this is definitely one of the best zombie games out there. you just have to love it. it's perfect and satisfying

A noite cai e o coração dispara

dead island 2 before dead island 2

Enjoyed what I played of it then put it down for too long and just have no desire to go back to it anytime soon.

Dying Light 1'in ana karakteri olan Kyle Crane'in hikayesini tamamen sonlandıran oyundur kendileri.

The combination of parkour and zombie was AMAZING. Must play
The expansion is really good aswell!

an great game that could have used some narrative improvements to make it amazing

Le meilleur jeu de zombie en vrai

Muito melhor do que um jogo do tipo deveria ser. Ansioso para ter dinheiro e comprar a sequência em algum momento.

Good co-op but gameplay's a little bit clunky
