Fun rhythm game on PSP based on 2 rebuild evangelion movies I watched.

An Evangelion rhythm game? Really? Was there a market for this? This is such a niche thing that I can't believe it was made. It's a decent rhythm game though, in no small part thanks to Evangelion's amazing soundtrack. It gets a little difficult actually.

why was grasshopper commissioned to make this game? why was there demand for a psp eva rhythm game in 2011? why did this ever see the light of day?

i didn't play a whole lot of sound impact, but i loved the little bit i did. so bizarre.

(emulated on retropie with basically no problems outside of occasional framerate drops)

Found this at a local used games store, had to get it because the entire concept of an Evangelion rhythm game was too perplexing to pass up. My expectations weren't all too high but I ended up having a great time with this game! Of course it helps that I enjoy NGE in general, but nonetheless this was a pleasant surprise, especially for a PSP title. There's enough variety in game modes to keep it engaging, inputs are accurate (albeit pretty lenient), and the tracklist is solid. Hard mode is even more fun, I'll probably come back some day and replay all the levels now that it's unlocked.

Very ok rhythm game. Full extra star for being developed by Grasshopper.

I am not so much into rhythm games but this is a fine one. Six styles of minigames and they all merge really well with the unique style of Gainax animes and Grasshoper Manufacture. They don't do anything crazy with this one but was unexpected to see how creative it its.

Mari is the only fully modeled pilot in the game and that makes this an instant 5/5.

Ok ok, serious though, this was one of the more unique rhythm games I've played and it was enjoyable throughout.

the gameplay is fine, what amuses me more is the fact that an evangelion rhythm game designed by suda51 exists in the first place

way too unchallenging to beat
way too many AT and drakengard ending e stages
why are the (3) platforming stages all set to the same music lol
still fun and nice presentation and all but it's not great

maybe hard mode is better but i'm not gonna immediately replay it (only unlocks after beating the game normally)
