One of the most fun live service FPS games I played, till Bandai Namco ruined it all because it didn't generate them enough money cause they didn't want to fix basic issues.

If you wish to play this game, I heavily recommend checking out the Side 7 Discord, they are hosting servers for this game with a bunch of stuff they added, it's genuinely awesome, please check it out.

I actually really found this game fun, but I will never forgive Bamco Namdai for biting into the crazy hamburger and try to rush out a competitive scene without putting much effort, weak servers at launch, and other disappointing things (I could go on a rant about how I would have handled the skins but I'm aware that micro transactions are a bit of a hard topic to tackle due to how reasonably poorly they're perceived). It's a shame too, since I really liked the gameplay. I think if I could play it again, I would, but unfortunately Bamco pulled the plug.

I liked it more than Overwatch, shame it's gone.

better overwatch with mechs i miss you

Could have been the Overwatch killer but players crawled back to the company that's abused them for a decade, then Overwatch died, and now they all have nothing to play and are mad.

RIP to the overwatch 2 killer. They still should have added Aerial

RIP my sweet Turn A, this game was so fun.

I've put my rating at five stars despite the obvious, and GLARING problems with the game because of the amount of joy it's given me throughout the one year I had to play it.

I had known about Gundam for a long time, and I've loved mecha since I saw Gurren Lagann when I was a child, however this game really gave me the push I needed to start my Gundam journey.
I can identify all the Mobile Suits now, and I have a deep admiration for most, if not all of them.
I love the references in all the deploy and MVP animations + all the stickers and icons you can unlock.

Even apart from all the stuff meant for fans of Gundam, though, the game itself is one of the more captivating, and fun hero shooters I've ever played. Matches are fast, electric. Every decision made can lead to some genuinely huge consequences, and when you get in the zone; when you and your Mobile Suit of choice get in sync and go on a crazy killstreak, the feeling it inspires within you is second to none. You really do feel like a newtype with how cracked the game can make you feel.

Unfortunately, Bandai gave the devs about three paper clips for its budget, and decided to pull the plug when it didn't make overwatch money.
As I write this, there's about two weeks left of the game's life. It's honestly so sad to know it'll be gone. It led me to making some good friends, and even better memories.

Goodbye, Gundam Evolution.

Excellent shooter with its ups and downs brought down by terrible management and awful microtransactions. Really fun gameplay, clearly trying to copy Overwatch, but with its own things like revives for all characters and dashes. It has great units from different timelines of the Gundam franchise, some more similar to others, but a few pretty unique ones too (Asshimar, my beloved). It gave me some of the most engaging battles I've had in online games, and will surely be missed a lot, staying in a special place in my heart. WOOOOOOOOO on, my friends.

soo fun i wish it wasnt getting SHUT DOWN ARRGGHH

The best pvp hero shooter that ever existed and now is no longer playable. Retains the 6v6 format while keeping competitive viability and very much fun. No traditional role system allows for creativity in team comps and player expression while also keeping the game balanced. There was never a time in the games lifespan in which one mobile suit was required on every team. This was due to every mobile suit having regenerating health when out of combat and also well placed health pickups in the map.

I personally reached Master rank and wished I had spent more time to reach Newtype rank. Sadly the game was hugely overlooked due to Bandai Namco mismanaging with the competitive scene instead opting to pay influencers to play the game for less than 2 weeks before dropping it as well as microtransactions and lootboxes for cosmetics. The playerbase on North America dwindled to the point that most players had to switch to JP servers to find matches. After a 1 year war, the game was shut down most likely due to not being profitable and not retaining a playerbase. It will always be a hidden gem and what I consider the peak of pvp hero shooters.

We didn't deserve this game. It was too beautiful for this world.

It’s overwatch but with a lot of problems fixed, and Mobile suits.

Also it was unavailable in a lot of countries including mine.

Also it has draconic monetization with the paid characters being very strong.

Also it’s buggy as fuck.

Also it’s very annoying to get the free currency and things take too long

Also it doesn’t have much content and it’s very focused on e-sports so it has essentially zero immersion.

Also Bandai killed it. Fuck you Bandai Namco. You will never make money with the IPs you own if you keep treating them like this.

An absolutely fine FPS with cool Gundam mechs. Not super balanced and not really enough game modes. Doesn't really matter since as of this writing the servers have been shut down.

Maybe we'll get a better version down the line!

you ever live-service so hard that you release a new character 2 weeks before your game is obliterated off the face of the earth?

A Gundam AGE suit would’ve saved it 🧑‍🦯

So long gundam evolution, I had fun being able to feel like I was really guntank. Being serious though I Feel like this game could have been a really cool if it had better maps and just a bit more going on. Shame that every hero shooter has gone down the drain now in one form or another

6/10

This game needed a better fighting shot than what it got. Bamco launched this thing with no expectation of its current running series, Witch From Mercury, to do the numbers or attention that it got and it shows in every fiber of this production which didn't push anything new but instead tried to get old fans back with a modern kind of shooter that probably doesn't fit Gundam very well. On top of that, it was poorly advertised. Its monetary system was crushing and way too limiting, meaning that unless you forked over cash there was no way you were earning a single one of those locked suits. It had a strange selection of mobile suits that didn't quite hit the level of "wow cool deep cut" but also didn't cover all the bases on classics that everyone loves.

This game was confused. It was an obvious attempt at trying to bandwagon on a popular style of game. That'd be a lot less bad if it was a lot more focused and a lot better made. But it wasn't all bad, it was fun, it was snappy, the maps weren't perfect but many of them were charming and it was fun that it managed to feel a bit different than the games it was shamelessly chasing. I hope Bandai's next endeavor is better reasoned.

Was very good when people had actually played it

overwatch's cool step-uncle from japan

im gonna miss you and your mid... bad microtransactions, moderately okay servers at times. the gameplay is its own thing if derivative of overwatch, with bad balancing it still remains fun to fuck up some gundams. it will alwayss hold a special place in my heart for getting me into mecha stuff
fuck bandai for discontinuing servers btw!! goodbye evolution <3
