i really loved it when i was a kid but i progressively got tired of it (after completing the main story), and now that i'm older i've realised that it wasn't that good at all lmao

Natsume's attempt at wanting to make her own Harvest Moon after she lost the right to publish the original Bokumono, as she owned the rights to the Harvest Moon name they tried to make their own game... the models are cute the sandbox style was interesting, but then it all went downhill from there! sad reality of this game having lost potential and being an empty game because it had everything to work if it was done right, but better go play Story of Seasons which is much better is the original franchise!

This is one of the shittiest games I've played in my life. If you want to play a really shitty buggy pretty much unplayable verion of minecraft this was made just for you. What a demise for a franchise to face.

I could never finish it due to bugs
:)

i can't speak for other natsume harvest moon titles, but honestly this one wasn't that bad. like gameplay and story-wise it was probably as good as the weaker bokumono games. wasn't crazy about the artstyle or terraforming, but enjoyed the simple story, farmsim elements, and the music. a lot of these characters were archetypes seen often in bokumono games, but some we haven't seen in awhile so it felt a bit more unique than releasing gray 5.0 into the world lol

Well, it's better than leprosy.

This game exists because Natsume lost the distribution rights to Harvest Moon, but are still able to use the "Harvest Moon" name. Story of Seasons is the actual continuation of the Harvest Moon series.

That being said, this game isn't very good. When I first played it back in 2014, I got some enjoyment out of it, but it was obviously a much lower quality than previous HM titles. It's not completely terrible, though. I actually kind of enjoyed the terraforming mechanic. But it wasn't enough to make up for all the baffling decisions that Natsume made. You'd be much better off playing pretty much any other game in the series.

This is the nightmare that started it all, it feels like some sort of Minecraft tech demo that they would quickly abandon after the second game.
