now THIS was a good time! the new glider, underwater sections, and customizations adds alot of new variates to the stages and the stages themselves are pretty fun! would recommend not getting blue shelled

I don't think MK7 deserves its reputation of being a "yeah, that happened" game in the series. I feel that MK8 owes most of its identity to this game. The controls in 8 are extremely similar to 7's, making it really easy to jump from one game to the other. Gliders and underwater driving are huge additions to the series that allow tracks to have more memorable and varied layouts; 1 lap tracks are also a great concept for the same reason. Kart customization is another great addition that I feel people take for granted. MK7 is an incredibly important game to the series, and is very fun to boot, as much as people seem to think that it's just whatever.

I actually think this is the best handheld Mario Kart game. DS easily has this game beat in terms of single-player content and... having a VS mode (I can't believe 7 excluded it), but 7 has a much better track lineup, both new and retro, and unlike DS, the controls are not horrendous. Sorry DS lol

Also, Honey Queen

Overhated imo, the tracks are pretty good and even if there are some issues like the playable cast being very mid, the game itself is very fun.

This has always been one of my favorite Mario Karts. Insane track selection with so many incredible new ones and some of the series absolute best returning. I love the weird character roster, Wiggler's the best, and the vehicle customization was a cool idea. So many great memories with this one, even with 8 Deluxe out this is still a blast to come back to.

Online was overrun with hackers but otherwise still a nice installment in the franchise. I won't miss it too much cause 8 is practically better in every way but this def was a game I played and enjoyed a lot. Writing this review on the last day before the 3DS wifi shuts down since I played a little bit again.

It’s a solid entry, it’s got some great tracks and some decent fun to be had, although, with a (soon-to-be) defunct online service I don’t think I’ll have any reason to revisit it when 8 does everything it did, but better.

Another excellent Mario Kart game. This one introduces gliding and underwater driving, which became a mainstay. The only problem with this game is later games did everything this one did but better, which really isn't this game's fault. Overall a great Mario Kart!

The wuhu island glitch is someting else.

The download play gave you access to the whole ass game.

Was on a 3ds so the screen looked like 7 pixels but its Mario kart, what do you expect

Great Mario kart game that introduces a ton of fun customization mechanics to the game

Other than the weird character roster and horrible controls, this is a really solid Mario Kart game!

Mario Kart 8 made this game look kinda shit.

Having more characters and karts was cool, though it will always be bizarre to me that they just added honeyhive queen all for promo for Super Mario Galaxy 2 😭😭😭

Even though Mario Kart 8 replaces most of this game, the groundwork here is very impressive. The addition of gliders and water movement are probably the best new additions any Mario Kart entry ever had, combined with some of the best controls yet and a great selection of tracks; including the best Rainbow Road in the series. What a weird character roster, though.

I remember playing this for 3 weeks straight when it came out, trying to unlock metal Mario
