This might be my biggest gaming hot take ever, but this is the weakest 3D Mario Kart. The controls are awful and slippery, the track selection is pretty weak (more bad or forgettable tracks than good ones imo), the two racer/two item system isn't nearly as mind-blowing as people make it seem, item balancing is WORSE than Wii and makes playing through the single player a SLOG, the graphics don't look great (sometimes people say Wii looks worse but I disagree), Toad is an unlockable character for some reason...okay maybe that last one isn't that important but it's just stupid.
It's still Mario Kart, so it's still mostly fun, but I think I'd rather play any Mario Kart except Super Mario Kart before it (yes that includes Super Circuit that game is slept on fight me)
Also FUCK this game's rainbow road especially that part with the upward spiral where the camera gets all wonky. I played this game like 10 hours so I could give it a "fair" review and I don't think I drove on that thing without falling off at least once.
So in conclusion DOUBLE DASH SUUCKSSSS LOL stay mad

Double Dash is awesome. I'm not as good at it as I'd like to be, especially when compared to other MK games, but it's still a dang good time. Having two characters on a kart was a super cool idea that I'm honestly surprised hasn't been revisited since, even as a side mode. Having two characters essentially means two items at once that you can choose between, adding a nifty layer of strategy to the mix.
more fun than 64! the vibes of the gamecube are so great in here and i find the double team mechanic interesting! you gotta switch them up if you wanna get 2 abilities unless you run into a double-stacked item box, and the stages are better! would recommend!
I don't get it
Anyone who tells you this is not the best Mario Kart are lying to you. This game is lightning in a bottle. They had some genius at Nintendo go "what if 2 players controlled the cart at the same time" and ran with it.
The only gripe is that there are not many tracks. But it is an old game and the roster is big to make up for it. Not to mention battle mode, which to this day they have been unable to make as good in any future title.

An awesome mario kart game, bonus points for the dual-character mechanic that still hasn't returned since.
A game that likes to have fun with its unique identity. A very silly entry in the series, not only with its unique gimmick but its music and characterization as well. The tracks are all very unique, too.

Insanely fun MarioKart with a unique mechanic that I feel can only be imitated, but never replicated again. Only downside to the game is it's lackluster tracklist compared to modern games in the series. Thankfully, each track is unique and fun, exploring vibrant areas of the Mario world. Overall amazing game.
Course selection is kinda mid.
It plays good for a Mario Kart game of its time, but I am not digging the concept of sharing a kart with another character! Still a solid racing game!
I did not play this game for long due to controller problems and not having the patience to get used to the controls, but there is a good game here I was not able to reach. Based on the later entries I played, it had some great tracks too.
Mario Kart Double Dash is the most unique game in the series, this one features two drivers per kart, and it succeeds in what it set out to do. After playing everything the game has to offer, i honestly still prefer Super Circuit. Overall, I think it's a solid time and is still worth playing to this day.

Received as a gift in middle school, played several times but I have no memory of the progress I made. Should a friend ever request to try it, I will pull out the game again, but otherwise I have no intention of returning to this title. It's a good Mario Kart game, but it predates the additions that made me truly love the series.

I'll be honest, the whole kart duo gimmick - interesting of a spin on the formula as it is - does almost nothing for me here. It very rarely ever feels fun to use solo, and in multiplayer one player is always going to be relegated to the less-fun position of item holder. That being said, while it's definitely not my favorite it's still a fantastic kart racer in its own right - that crisp GameCube aesthetic has aged wonderfully, and its got a real murders' row of outstanding tracks (Dino Dino Jungle, Daisy Cruiser, Wario Colosseum, Mushroom Bridge, Yoshi Circuit, Peach Beach, and this game's marvelous rendition of Rainbow Road among others). Though its too-short length can't go unnoticed, you can crank out all these courses and a few games of battle mode in less than an hour. A handful of hot takes that I have no idea why they're hot takes: Dry Dry Desert is elite, DK Mountain is one of the weaker DK courses, GCN Sherbet Land >>>> N64 Sherbet Land, Waluigi Stadium feels kind of awkward to race on, and Baby Park is a top 10 course of the entire franchise - even its defenders love to admit how chaotic it gets before dropping the confusing "buh.. it's just an oval!!1!" line.... yeah and that's the point?? Why do you think there are 7 laps on it?

Apesar de não conseguir achar os controles desse jogo naturais, eles são muito satisfatórios quando eu ligo o modo "doubledash" do meu celebro, os power-ups são caóticos, mas ao mesmo tempo ainda possui muita estratégias em usar eles, e etc
