The least shit of the three DLCs, the catwoman saga is the beginning of the end for this game through no fault of its own. The charm and enjoyment of this game comes from a beautiful open world that is a great showcase of modern day tech as you zip and swing around in the game.
Unfortunately 20 hours in, it starts to get a bit repetitive and boring. The few new additions like the new enemy type and stuff is counterbalanced by just chore like side missions, which was justttttt starting to get boring in the base game and here it totally breaks the camel's back. I have to mention that if you choose to not 100% the game this might not be an issue for you.
The story is servicable enough and the seductress cat woman actually adds jeopardy to the story. Still, its all a bit meh except one optional side mission reveal that I will not spoil.
All in all its not as fun as the base game got me expecting, and that is a bit of a shame.
I still recommend it, preferably after a little break from spiderman so you actually are interested again.

It's perfectly fine as DLC, if not a little unimaginative. That being said, it is very episodic, which leaves further room for the addition of more interesting ideas beyond "you have to fight a big guy, but now he's got a chaingun." The base is, of course, incredibly solid as far as recent open-world games go, so expanding upon this world, in theory, could only be a good thing.

I HATE SCREWBALL!!! Anyways this first part of the dlc was fun and interesting even though I expected some of the things that happened since I played Spider-man 2 before this.

Es corto, realmente no es tan bueno, no tiene misiones destacables y la historia es pobre a comparación del juego base.
DLC completado al 100%.

Did the Heist Really strong beginning to the dlc. Peter's and Felicia's chemistry is amazing and the backstory stuff for the old black cat is great too. Gameplay wise I would say its more of the same but the screwball challenges are annoying due to the reliance on photobombs

big side quest where peter hangs around with a known criminal and repeatedly says "don't you know crime is illegal?? i don't get you..."

She's hot but not hot enough to make this DLC good

Version: PS5
System: PS5
Played via Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered

Considering it only came out about a month after the original game, it's pretty decent. It was cool to see Black Cat show up and of course the beginning of Hammerhead as well. There's just not much to really do, but that's honestly to be expected.

8 / 10.

I’m not even gonna try to fix her, we can be terrible together

If you loved the main game, The Heist will offer you more of it. The story here is as good as the main game's story and there are some really good main missions as well. Even the side missions are very interesting, especially "Stolen Art Pieces" that slowly reveals a bigger story as you collect them. It took me 3 hours to do everything in the DLC and I really liked every minute I spent with it. I highly recommend this.

The Full Review(No Spoilers for THIS DLC, Spoilers for the Main Game):

A Brewing Gang War
Just after a month from the launch of the game, Marvel's Spider-Man comes back with the first piece of it's three part DLC saga; The Heist. And well, it's pretty pretty good.

Felicia Hardy is back in town and she seems to be working for Hammerhead. However, Peter and MJ thinks this might cause a gang war so they try to stop Black Cat. This is the very basic story because just like the main game, the writers at Insomniac managed to play with the source material in very fun and exciting ways.

There are a BUNCH of twists that you will not see coming. However, I don't think that the twists goes anywhere interesting. And the reactions from the characters are a bit forced. For example, there is a main question at the heart of this DLC and while Peter can get the answer to that towards the end of the first act; you of course have to wait until the third act for the answers.

Overall though, the story here was good. Characters are even better. Again in classic Insomniac fashion, they play with the Spider-Man lore in meaningful and creative ways. And it just works.

In the gameplay front, don't expect much new things. It's the game you know and love. There is a new enemy faction but it's just a reskin. However, there is one new enemy type that comes with this. Brutes that holds a minigun. They are not very fun to fight against and definitely frustrating.

But it also definitely changes your playstyle at least a little bit. There are no new gadgets or skills or anything. So don't expect that. There are new suits, 3 of them but they don't have any suit powers. Which sucks to be honest but at least they all look very very nice. Just like all the suits in the main game.

Main missions here are mostly excellent. The opening is great, the chase mission is definitely one of the biggest highlights and the game ends on a high note as well. As you can expect, there are a bunch of stealth missions too and even an MJ mission. That MJ mission is not particularly interesting but it adds a nice variety.

There are 3 types of side missions that is included with this DLC. One of them is the collectible type called "Stolen Art Pieces". I don't want to talk about this too much but collecting them reveals a side story on it's own and expands the lore in some nice ways. There is even a twist ending, in collecting collectibles!

We also have crimes for the new faction. And finally, Screwball Challenges similar to the Taskmaster Challenges from the main game. Combat challenges, Stealth challenges and Gadget challenges that only allows you to gain point by using 2 specific gadgets.

I liked these challenges and they are even more difficult than the Taskmaster ones so that's great. Technically, the game continues to look impressive even on a Fat PS4 and performs well as well. I don't remember seeing any bugs or glitches too. Finally, John Paesano's score continues to be fantastic.

It’s fine, there is just like nothing there from what I’ve seen from the other two I think at least I’ll get a boss battle but for this I expected something a little more, the missions are basically just beat em ups and the collectibles have no personality other then just go and grab it, hopefully the worst of the 3

Ótima DLC, gosto muito da relação do Peter e da Black Cat e de como eles apresentam seus passados. História e gameplay incrível.

My main takeaway from this DLC is that Black Cat is hot

Se tivesse menos "crimes" pela cidade seria melhor. A fórmula já tá batida.

Black Cat is the best part of this game

SCREWBALL É UM INFERNO

do you think peter ever shot webs on his dick to act like its bigger?

Good DLC. Played on Downloaded PS5 Main Game Remastered Version on PS5.

Surprisingly lame DLC

The Heist is honestly just kinda pathetic. It features a pretty bare-bones story that somehow wastes time despite only being like 2-3 hours, and its gameplay fails to innovate on the base game.

for open-world stuff, Insomniac made the genius decision to completely separate this DLC's open world activities from the base game, this makes New York feel empty and barren. All new open world content here is just boring collectables or challenges that pretty much just feel like the base games activities but a lil worse. I cannot be bothered to waste my time going through these activities.

In terms of gameplay, most additions are so insignificant they're not worth mentioning. The only big notable difference is that they've added a big dude with a machine gun as an enemy type, he's pretty whatever.

Finally onto the story, it's really not that bad but the first half really wastes time as it just takes forever to do what we already knew it was gonna do. The second half is a bit better but it's really just not enough. I like the voice acting and the character interactions between Peter, Cat, and MJ, but that's about it.

The actually gameplay content within these story missions don't create any interesting situations or dynamics, it's just more of the base game but less inspired, and they even had the gall to bring back MJ missions, which is just so silly to me. Why would I want to play as a regular human when I boot up my superhero game. It doesn't help that the MJ sections feature extremely linear and half-baked stealth that puts me to sleep, if it was actually well made it wouldn't be such an annoyance.

Anyways, this DLC is lame as hell, but at least it isn't long right? Hopefully the following chapters are more interesting.

the closest insomniac has yet come to capturing the exact texture of a comic book. this is some marv wolfman, bill mantlo type stuff. my review may as well just be a compilation of cover images for the issues it most inspires me to reread.

one of the first spider-man books I ever owned was a mid-2000s trade paperback called Spider-Man vs The Black Cat. my dad bought it for me at the Borders in the lobby of his office. it collects her first six appearances. baby kieran went cover to cover on it so many times the binding is now in tatters. so, of course this little nugget of story DLC sings to me.

playing The Heist again five years later, and after fully ingesting my lukewarm plate of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, I arrive at a great yearning. oh, ye sleepless ones! return to the way it was!

more of this! god please, more of this. no more drones. get the spider-man branded Uber for Superheroes out of the game. instead: more games which feature spider-man traveling of his own narrative momentum to Locations, seeking to perform Actions, all the while interacting face to face with Characters. please! and if you absolutely must deliver the majority of your story through phone calls and audio diaries… imbue them with as much crackling drama as they’ve got here, where Peter and his ex-girlfriend’s father subtly interrogate each other over the phone without the other realizing.

insomniac. you were so good at this before. what happened?

Solid. Enjoyed the interactions that Peter had with Black Cat and MJ. Felicia Hardy is the definition of "I can fix her" LOL

Being almost 20 days out from Marvel's Spider-Man 2, I thought it was finally time to try out the DLC for the original 2018 game and it really was exactly what I expected it to be, making it a little underwhelming.

Story-wise, nothing much really happens. Black Cat is introduced as kind of an antagonist, a pregnancy scare happens and then she fucking explodes. Black Cat is a fun character and the chemistry between her and Peter is really enjoyable to watch.

Gameplay-wise it's more of the same, which isn't a complaint because I love Insomniac's gameplay for Spider-Man. The one new enemy type introduced, a brute with a machine gun, is fine, he makes battles a little more hectic but isn't a major addition. The one MJ mission in this DLC is, as always, really slow, making me really hopeful they take out the stealth missions entirely in Spider-Man 2.

Insomniac's output over the last 7 years has been pretty distinct compared to the rest of Sony's 1st party lineup and the MJ and miles stealth missions really slow down the pace and remind me of those games.

A fine dlc addition to a great game.
