Need for Speed Retrospective #15

World was clearly ahead of its time. And by that I mean it was as grindy and obnoxious as most live service games wouldn't become until a good decade later. Since servers were shut down in 2015, the only way to experience World today is on community servers. And even with all the currencies and microtransactions removed, my few hours with this game were one extremely repetitive and grindy affair.

Driving and customization were actually pretty cool here, and the world, while lacking a lot of the soul from Most Wanted and Carbon, was fun to explore. Usable items were a nice addition to the formula, though I find it kind of tragic that they were introduced here and not six months earlier in fun racer spin-off Nitro, where they would have been a much better fit.

Deadass even with the third-party launcher, easy to cheat with cheat engine from what I heard.
Respect the devs who tried to revive this game, but it remains buried.

Simplesmente um dos melhores NFS que já joguei e que depois disso foi só decadência na franquia.

Why did they shut down servers, whyy

kinda banger but played with a revival project so grinding wasn't hell

This game was THE shit for me back in the day, racing around with other people or just meeting other players on the map was completely new to the NFS franchise. Nowadays the game breathes with the help of the community that provides custom content and dedicated servers as the original one was shut down back in 2015.

um dos jogos que mais marcou minha infância, jogava muito com meu irmão :(

A pretty cool game, too bad microtransactions and hackers ruined it. The community brought this game back to life through a mod, if you want to enjoy it without microtransactions and with a really cool community I recommend the Soapbox Race World mod, you can really have fun.

Запомнила ужасной физикой, больше сказать нечего. РАЗОЧАРОВАНИЕ...

the grind was unbearable and the balance was non existent, like at this point just buy mw or carbon
