I didn’t like this game when I was younger because it was too hard for me but now after replaying it it's easily peak pokemon🙏

My first Pokemon was Pokemon Black. I played it on DS as a kid and I've played it as recently as 2023. Albeit, I only play it with a randomizer now, the charm of the game is still there. Team Plasma is a fun, cool evil team with Ghetsis at it's head. N is super fuckin' cool. The sprites are amazing and full of life. Overall, a great Pokemon, and my favorite. If not because of nostalgia, it's because of the quality of the game! And a lot of people think Black is really great, too. So! Take that! My favorite.

My favorite Pokemon game
A real gem from before the 3D era of Pokemon began

The start of the downfall of Pokemon in my opinion. I barely got through the game, but I really wasn't that interested in it towards the end. Gen 5 is okay, but meh.

Possivelmente o melhor da franquia.

Listen, I get that the dex thing was contrversial. But hey, Unova is so awesome you will forget that in an instant. The story is the only thing I would say is better than BW2, but that is not a bad thing. Hilbert is my favorite protag because of his relationship with N that is explored more in Masters and the manga. Unova is my favorite region, but it took one more game to create a 5 star Pokémon game in my eyes.

Probably would be my favorite pokemon game if it was a different gen

The story, which is for a children's game, tries to do some literal Watchmen level type-ish. I have no idea what this game was even about. Not when I was a kid and still not now as an adult. I will say, Black 2 thankfully simplified the story after this. I like how they stopped bringing old Pokémon back and decided to be bold sticking to an entirely new generation of Pokémon. I really like the Pokémon in this generation. Oshawatt, Zoroark, and Kyurem are especially Kino. Maybe it's bias, I have a more vivid memory of this generation because I was the target audience when the TV series was airing on Cartoon Network. So, It does have a special place in my memories. The gyms are great, new Pokémon rock, and the soundtrack is phenomenal (Driftveil n Castelia kino). However, the progression needs work. Still too much grinding and I always hated how the entire right side of the region is locked off as POST GAME CONTENT. Like nah, that's doing too much. Overall, this game was just ok. Over hated, though without a doubt, this is the generation that gave birth to "Genwunners." Still, I prefer it over Platinum.

My first Pokémon game! (Yes, I was very late to the party.) Absolutely adored the amount of heart this has, and the gameplay is fun and addictive. There's just so much to do, even when you finish the main story. I love Cubchoo!

The best Pokemon game when it comes to story, with roundabout ways of talking about real-life topics that you wouldn't expect a children's game to tackle.

The Arm Thrust move noise…. Hehe.

Not sure I love the Pokémon design of this region more than Hoenn. Although the 3d world elements native to the DS are still fun coming from 2d.

Delta, 2x speed, with share exp makes this a breeze… I can’t believe how much time we wasted as children. Were we just killing time to grow up to see the world? Or was Pokémon actually interesting of its own merit?? (Idea I will finish later)

Many Pokemon evolve way too late to the point you have to grind in order to fully evolve them before the elite four. The game is very easy, with the AI constantly doing the worst possible option and trainers having very few Pokemon. The story tries to be something special but its young target demographic stops it form truly exploring its concepts. The rivals are great and have interesting stories and writing. The Pokemon introduced are great, tons of Pokemon I wanted to use but couldn't.

muitos te odeiam unova... mas eu te amo

Took a bunch of risks and came out on the otherside unscathed

For many people, in the gaming industry there are two types of JRPGS: regular jrpgs.... and Pokemon-like jrpgs

regular jrpgs are your familiar Final fantasy, Dragon quest, Persona, Chrono Trigger..... titles that are capable of making you jump into a wonderful fantasy world, filled with characters and contexts that narrates stories on their own, while also creating a deep combat system and a narrative that inspires and is able to express messages and morals that will stuck with you forever.

Pokemon games...... also sometimes do that.... on a smaller scale..... in some instances.....
Don't get me wrong, the pokemon world is awesome and the ability to build up your team and the core concept of customizeing your adventure is the reason why it is the most successful media in the world..... but in terms of bringing up complex characters and deep messages.... doesn't really hit most of the time.

Black & White is one of the only instances where I can safely say that I am "playing a classic jrpgs": not only an amazing title where you explore an alive world, where even details like the music and the environment depends on you actions (to this day they are the only titles next to B2W2 to feature seasonal variants of the world, and have details like literal added instruments to the soundtrack AS YOU RUN OR TALK TO PEOPLE); but also a title where you are put to the test, and challenges with the various gym leaders and "bosses" are actually able to put you to the test. Add this to a full new map that opens the moment you finish the main story, for a post-game almost as big as the main campaign

And not only that, but it's not able to risk it all: it's a game that was supposed to be a reset for the whole series, with a completely new roster of pokemon and zero returning ones, and a story where all of the major characters matter, and are able to express something different regarding a world filled with magical companions.

The characters of Cheren, Bianca, N, the leaders of Team Plasma, the Gym leaders and even the Pokemon themselves are able to give so much depth to not only the story of the games, but the story of the franchise as a whole, turning Black & White into one of the best titles in the series.

If you are a Pokemon fan or a fan of jrpgs in general, you HAVE to try them!!!!

My favorite pokémon game and one of the few I finished
