The potential this game had was wasted because of the terribad administration of every single server in the planet.

This game was extremely visionary for it's time with the agency it gave players to influence and harness the world. The race war dynamic is extremely fun and the elections for race leader brings a novel and pretty cool experience that was normally informal in other MMOs. Each race having an unique and engaging mechanic (mechs for the lil guys, gigantic arm-mounted artillery for the robots, and summon spirits for the elves) was also neat.

The economics of the Chip War and the resource distribution along participants was interesting, and playing the markets to fuel the war machine while profiting could be a game in itself - if not for the rampant duping and cheating.

Enourmous potential squandered - and I doubt that even in the remote possibility RF2 actually releases this potential would be realized.

Very nice MMORPG. You have a MU online and WOW kind of feeling when you play this game. You start with three races (human, elf, and robot). Each of those races has some specific class and skill attached to it.
For example, the robot can use Grenade Launchers and Flame Guns, an elf can use summon and a human can pilot MAU.
One of the best moments is the Chip Wars. This is a massive Race vs Race war that occurs three times a day. All three races battle for controlling the Holystone Keeper and mining rights.
The only thing I didn’t do was be a representative of my race. After a vote, the Patriarch takes the lead and other positions are distributed following the results of the vote and can have an influence on the economies. To get voted you need contributions, and you can get contributions if you kill characters of other races. The top 100 ranked classes are listed for all three races.

While its not the best MMO around, it was very fun and is a core part of my childhood. The main song "One" is absolutely beautiful aswell, such a shame its such a niche game.
