this game is very special to me. i picked it up on the eshop through the wii u's virtual console and fell in love. the amount of charm this game is able to show through some silly little mini games is incredible. not only that but the remixes in this game are amazing and definitely my favorite in the series. nintendo needs to bring this series back
I love this kind of stuff. Each and every one of the rhythm minigames has an ingenious and insane concept, challenging your reflexes and sense of rhythm every step of the way.
The medal system is the perfect way to encourage the player to get better at the game: it doesn't require perfection, but it rewards you when it's clear that you got the feel of each minigame and made it yours.
I won't give it a perfect score because sometimes, in the latter levels, the game can be a bit stingy with medals, only allowing you a couple of mistakes per minigame. Also, among the sea of awesome mini games, there are a couple of stinkers. Mainly the love rap minigames. I now loathe the words "fo' sho".
Other than that, this is just pure, distilled fun. Play it!

Replayed this gem from start to finish, I don't know why, but this time around I did... Worse? I was struggling a lot more with the minigames. Might've been an issue with my equipment? Nontheless, this game is as great as I remembered. Very charming cutesy artstyle and very fun minigames, none of them felt too frustrating, even though I struggled a LOT with some of them. (Remix 10 and 8 in particular)
Rhythm Heaven Fever, more like Rhythm Hell's descent into madness. This dogshit rhythm game had me questioning my sanity. Where the hell are the prompts? I felt like I was banging on a drum in the dark. Forget this garbage, play Rabbids TV Party—it's got actual music, not the beeps and boops of Nintendo's failed attempt at rhythm. And don't get me started on the racist duck distracting me from avoiding baboon leg snapping. This game is a descent into auditory madness, and I'd rather have my eardrums violated by a rabbid. A generous 2/10 for the effort.
Probably my favorite Rhythm Heaven game. With just the right amount of content and pacing that does very well to keep you on your toes, I really think Fever is perfect. So many staple minigames came from this entry in the series and every single one is fun in their own right. Remix 10 is still very hard but after some practice, getting a superb isn’t too difficult. Getting a superb on every minigame is an attainable goal and I was able to achieve it without any issues (minus monkey watch, fuck you. But also, I love you). Some games like “Donk-Donk” (what is that thing that they do anyways?) gave me trouble but I got the hang of it after a few tries.
This game is also funny as hell (or heaven, if you’d rather). I love the character designs, which are both cute and sometimes nonsensical. They cooked here.

Nintendo is such an esteemed house when it comes to games of this ilk, ones that are easy to pick up but endlessly replayable, but this is where I believe that philosophy of game design peaked. Nearly 12 years after its release, that luster still hasn't faded; everything is as fun as I remember it being, and it becomes impossible for me to not have a giant smile on my face playing it. This is my prime example of what a perfect videogame looks like.
