It's a slightly enchanced, emulated version of Alex Kidd in Miracle World, so all of that game's problems apply beat for beat. It's a bit too hard, bit too trial and error and far too precise, but that's part of the charm and once you learn to overcome these shortcomings, it's a fun, quaint little game that serves as a neat bit of SEGA history.

Overall a solid platformer, albeit not a particularly memorable one. It’s still pretty fun to play, although some of the level design can be a bit weird and the game does like to throw you into trial-and-error situations especially towards the end. I’m not sure if it’s just this port but I also noticed trying to “slide” under low ceilings and whatnot sometimes doesn’t work very well, which is something that does become more required towards the end. Luckily it isn’t particularly long or difficult, and I can still have fun with it, although I feel like most of it’s charm comes from being Sega’s ‘main’ platformer title prior to Sonic the Hedgehog.
