It seemed to me that the authors tried to make the game as dark as possible, which would be extremely original and interesting if everything turned out well. I will explain the main disadvantages of the game: monotonous gameplay with meager combos, few types of antagonists and locations, a short campaign and many minor bugs.

It's a subpar Batman Arkham Asylum type of game. If you liked that game, you'll probably find something to like here. There's a lot of depth to some of the game's systems. A lot more than Arkham Asylum.

So why l am not rating this higher? Well, the game also has a lot of jank. It can really break you out of the experience. I've had multiple times the game just breaks and you can't progress on one playthrough, for example.

The combat is a lot more solid but you have to get a good feel for doing things the way the game expects you do to not break the illusion. Combat works well when it works too. But there's a lot of room for things to go wrong or for jank to come into play.

I overlooked these faults when it came out. And while I wish no game being lost to time, you're probably not missing out on much for this entry.

Esse jogo tem mts defeitos mas marcou uma época feliz da minha vida

This game could've been something else. You can see the passion and actual ideas for a big game. Especially looking at the main hub/dojo area. But in the end it just doesn't work, everything here is flat.
First of all, all of the turtles feel exactly the same to play as. Yeah sure, they different special movies, but they all do the same pretty much (?). Maybe I'm just too dumb to notice the differences. Whole game is a mindless, literally mindless button mashing. Not even a satisfying one, well animated for sure, it gives you joy for the first hour or so, but then it gets extremely repetitive and boring. In 4th chapter (last chapter) I was rushing through fights, not even attempting most of them. It just wasn't worth my time. All of the enemies that you encounter in the game, are exactly the same. The only difference being their health and damage. Best tactic? Spam the attack button and that's all. There is paring system in the game, but you don't even need to use it for most of it. There is also huge skill tree for every turtle, that is so unnecessary and uninspired that it's not even worth thinking about.
Game is ~4 hours long, 4 missions long. Every single level has a boss, but every boss except for one is just an "special enemy" that works exactly the same as the rest of enemies but it has a ton of hp.
Whole soundtrack is just couple of 20s loops that don't even sound special, they're just unharmful.
I'm not a big fan of a Turtles design, but the game looks pretty decent for 2013 I'd say, except for the lighting which is horrible.
At top of all of that, game is just horribly glitched. I fell through the floor, wall countless of times. Camera is just pain in the ass.

the turtles had some fun little interactions and i like all of the voice actors chosen for this game, but everything else about it is at best just alright. it's very ugly, soundtrack is uninteresting, level design is boring/bad and movement is stiff and awkward. the combat isn't the WORST thing ever, wide variety of moves and stuff like team up moves and swapping between characters is fun. items are pretty bad/useless and each turtle feels pretty identical though. would say skip this one. not very fun even as a pretty big ninja turtles fan.

Too difficult on single-player. Too easy on co-op. I still recall having fun with it though. Something about the aesthetic appeals to me.

Nunca vi um jogo tão bugado e desconexo como esse, mas o meu eu de 5 anos ainda ama esse jogo

I liked this game as a kid... but I was a stupid kid, you know what I mean? But the hype leading up this game back then was unmatched. I was an Arkham fan, and this game LOOKED like the answer to all my prayers. Realistic looking turtles, freeflow combat; so when it dropped, I desperately overlooked its horrible snails pace gameplay and buggy missions. I actually have a deep rooted memory of me being so frustrated with the Baxter Stockman level because my game kept bugging out, that I was actually seeing red. And I remember thinking: "WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!" Well, 10 years later I finally have the answer: I WAS PLAYING THIS DAMN GAME! THAT'S WHERE I WENT WRONG!

IT'S NOTHING LIKE ARKHAM, EXCEPT MAYBE THE FACT YOU CAN FLY LIKE 5 FEET TO KICK SOME GUY IN THE FACE ACROSS FROM YOU - BUT OTHERWISE IT'S JUST A BORING GAME. I made up excuses to like this game but deep down I always knew it was biting off more than it could chew. But you know what? If this game came back to the Steam store (and it did, and I bought it, then they took it away, boohoo) I would probably replay it... again. The duality of being a TMNT fan. With nostalgia. It's not pretty. But if you aren't either a fan or nostalgic, just know that I wouldn't wish this game on my worst enemy.

I beat this one only because I like tmnt so much and I do not recommend to anybody to do the same.

Alright, I'm gonna be straight: this game is objectively not that good. It's buggy, repetitive, janky and short. Oh yeah, also, the multiplayer doesn't work! After I managed to snag some "cheap" copies (I say cheap in quotations because 40 bucks compared to the 500+ it goes for nowadays isn't even that bad), me and my friends had a migraine figuring it out. I spent an entire week reverse fucking engineering the game to figure out how to make it work. I literally had to call my ISP to have a static IP and open my ports so my friends could connect to me (do NOT do it unless you know what you're doing please seriously it's so dangerous it's not even funny) and THEN I had to go into the game files and bind a button to connect to my IP and had all my friends do the same. And only THEN were we able to play! It was a literal nightmare that kept me up for entire nights and at one point, I was about to give up.

So why is the rating so high if I'm shitting all over this game? Well, it's very simple. When this game works, it's actually fun. There, I said it, I enjoy this game. Sue me, see if I care. I KNOW that it's super buggy and fucky and unless you're playing with friends it's hella hard, but GOD IS IT FUN when I play it with my three best friends. Being able to banter with them and chill and have fun and also kinda tear apart the game while going level by level makes the experience all the more worthwhile. Even if we had a fuckton of game overs along the way and we fell victim to various bugs, which were admittedly kinda funny, I still have to consider this a fun game. If you're able to look past all of the problems, which trust me it AIN'T EASY, then you're left with either a pretty bad AAA game or a very good Indie game. It's all about perspective :)

I lowkey really like the design of the turtles. Even if I'm a big fan of the 2003 show, where they were drawn in a more buff and less human way, I have to admit that this half-original, half-2012 show inspired look isn't too shabby. Especially compared to the abhorrent Michael Bay design which makes them look like three-toed Hulks with shells. Seriously what the shit happened there?

I really like that, while the gameplay is the same base combat/parkour for everyone, every character is played in a very different manner in terms of how you build them with abilities. There's a lot of choice to make the fighting truly shine and you can clearly see the differences if you take a closer look. Raph is more of a tank/brute class, Donnie is sort of the engineer class, Mikey is very agility and speed based, and Leo is more team-oriented buffs and moves. I think it's always important to highlight the differences between characters, especially when they're deliberately made to be hella different from each other.

The gameplay clearly tries to take heavy inspiration from Arkham's freeflow combat and while it pretty much fails, it's a very decent beat 'em up. There are some inconsistencies, especially with the counters, but overall both the animations for the fighting and parkour look very Turtle-y and at times it looks like something you'd see in one of the shows or comics. The parkour is sorta smooth, too.

I'm grasping for straws, I know. It's very obvious. But I just can't hate this game simply because it's one of the only (but hopefully not the last) 3D TMNT games we've ever had. I love Shredder's Revenge but at the end of the day, it's an arcade 2.5D game. I really wish there would be another AAA size TMNT game that could give the Turtles a second shot. Especially because I just love them a lot so obviously I'm biased.

I loved playing this game with my friends and, since I'm so fond of them I consider them brothers, I could actually see ourselves as the Turtles. So overall, even if this game gets shit on a lot, in my personal bias it's NOT that bad!

Not worth 500 dollars and all the hassle I had to go through please don't actually buy this just respect it seriously don't do this to yourself.

The game echoes the combat system of Batman, and even comes close in dark tones to the latter's adventures. However, the four turtles prove to be much more clumsy: dancing camera, little dynamism in the moves, less immediate control scheme. In short, the customization possibilities of the protagonists are squandered by an overly cumbersome and unsmooth gameplay. The adventure not only tells a trivial and predictable story, but lasts very little. The team should have focused more on the arcade spirit (embodied by the eponymous mode).
