The Incredibles (Gamecube) tries to capture the superhero spirit of the beloved film, letting you play as each member of the Parr family throughout its story. Unfortunately, the gameplay feels clunky and repetitive, with combat becoming monotonous due to limited enemy variety. While occasional stealth levels and puzzles try to mix things up, frequent technical issues and uneven difficulty hinder the experience. Fans of the movie might find some brief enjoyment in reliving certain scenes, but overall, The Incredibles suffers from being a mediocre tie-in game.

at the time, this was a substantial licensed game with compelling enough gameplay, given the IP was doing most of the heavy lifting. having familiar characters with different abilities lends itself to a conversion like this, and when you've got Michael Giacchino's music, the original voice actors, and loosely follow the movie, it'd make for a grand adventure with tons of environments and variations in gameplay.
looking back though, it's easy to see why I only really have memories with the beginnings of most of these levels. the precision of the controls and the lack of assistance features like coyote time or jump buffering can make the platforming and checkpoints system feel frustrating. fortunately though, you can unlock all the levels with cheat codes.
it is a shame that violet was given very little to do with the game, nor were jack-jack and the baby-sitter, or frozone for that matter.
but what are ya gonna do

This is another game that I have a lot of nostalgia for. Before I went back and played it, I knew it wasn’t going to be as good as I remembered, and I figured it probably wasn’t good at all. However, I was pleased with the experience in the end. The first third/half of the game is not very good. You play almost exclusively as Mr Incredible, who isn’t very fun to use. However, as the game goes on, the level design greatly improves and the missions with Elastigirl and Dash+Violet are good fun (though the Violet solo mission is painful). These later levels are pleasantly creative at times. The boss fights are surprisingly good, though the fact that you fight the same exact boss fight with 0 changes twice within 3 missions is very strange. This game does some annoying small things like have your character repeat the same 3 phrases over and over and over again, but it’s not that big of a deal to me. If the developers nailed the final mission I probably would have even given this game 3.5 stars, but they completely dropped the ball. It’s super easy/quick and there’s a ton of missed potential. This game definitely isn’t great, but it’s a really solid movie-adaptation game and I had fun with it.
