A good action platformer with nice visuals and music. The aesthetic is a bit more of a mishmosh of different cultures than being as cohesive as something like Castlevania, and the five stages feature mostly the same enemies which can make the game start to feel repetitive. The platforming is the key focus here, with each stage providing plenty of it and a convenient stage select via passwords.

This is an incredibly competent exploration action platform that feels wise beyond its year. I googled “Treasure of Usas + Spelunky” and didn’t get many results, but the similarities are definitely there. You’re a pair of plucky explorers entering a series of tomb/cave levels, and you navigate obstacles and puzzles through multiple paths with ladders and drops aplenty. The graphics are superb, the background of levels being gorgeously detailed temple god statuary, with charming character and enemy sprites. Really cannot stress how cool Konami was at this time.
