Even for the time, the gameplay feels behind compared other hack and slash games (Diablo 1 and Nox being my references) and the unique mechanics like controlling multiple party members results in some very frustrating moments (pathfinding in particular) but at least compensates by having an entertaining story made more impressive that it's the very first game using the World of Darkness license. I wouldn't say it's on the level of Bloodlines' writing, but has the leverage of including two unique time periods that explore very different vampiric societies and Christoph being very likeable and tragic as a protagonist that I wanted to see his story to the end.

Had trouble deciding between 3 starts or 3 1/2, but I'm giving it that extra half because of how Paradox has flubbed the entire franchise (VtM and WoD as a whole), I feel safe to assume no good media, much less video games have or will be coming from their involvement anytime soon. Gotta appreciate what you've got sometimes.

It's probably impossible to come across a game in the Masquerade series that isn't problematic. Redemption's story is interesting, but it's too dated and buggy to play.

Played a bit, wasn't really for me.

Very Diablo-esque hack and slash rpg, which apart from the atmosphere and the story, makes me like it even more. Also, I really thought bloodlines was the first VTM game to exist, but then I discovered this

Much like Bloodlines, this is just a fun time. It's janky as all fuck, and filled with abrupt ancient PC game shit, but there's something about it. I think it's just the world in general. The lore, and the patter, oh god the patter. Being thrown from 1100s Prague into late 1990s London and Christoph is still giving it the big doths and nays. Bless his cold dead heart.

It's kinda weird to suddenly think vampires are cool in yer 30s. But WOD has really interested me of late. Despite my only exposure to it being this and Bloodlines, I could see myself getting into it. Got me very excited for Bloodlines 2.

Anyway, Wilhem and Samuel are my boys for eternity. Rest in power Big Erik.

NOW, TO THE ABYSS WITH THEE!
