Despite its limitations, Wave Race on the Game Boy offers a surprising amount of fun. The jet ski handling is intuitive, the races are challenging, and the soundtrack is catchy. The overhead perspective keeps the action clear, and the impressive water effects add a layer of visual appeal. While it might not be the most feature-rich racer, Wave Race is a solid portable title that shines in multiplayer, especially for those with fond memories of the early days of jet ski video games.

Such a cool racing game for the Game Boy. It's actually pretty fun, it gets quite hard once you get to the highest ranked levels and tracks. I also don't think I know any earlier jet-skiing games, so that's a plus for originality, too.

A fun, simplistic little Game Boy racer that's also tough as nails. Back in the day if you had some friends to play against, I bet this would have been a lot of fun. The Slalom mode is as much puzzle as racing which I thought was unique. I spent an afternoon and morning playing it and got my fill. If you're into Nintendo history at all it's worth checking out.
