I honestly have nothing bad to say about this game, it's so captivating from the story to the music, plus the puzzles aren't that difficult that it takes the fun out of it. The artstyle on top is absolutely beautiful and I would play this again :D it only takes about an hour and a half to complete, I highly recommend this if you haven't played it already <3

neat game theres a lot like this feels nice to just get some easy xbox gamerscore

A beautiful and short narrative game exploring love, loss, and how we move on. The art direction and sound track are really beautiful. But the game didn't leave as strong of an impact on me as I had hoped. I will acknowledge, I played this game shortly after playing Florence for the first time, which left me devastated. So there is some slight comparison influencing my rating of this game. I still strongly recommend When The Past Was Around!

Muy cortito y simple. Es otro juego más del mismo tema.

A nice little palette cleanser and a beautiful story....Wouldn't want it to be longer than an hour though.

A tale about grief and keeping the memory of a loved one alive. A beautiful point-and-click puzzle game with a gorgeous art style. A short and bittersweet narrative that doesn't have any dialogue or written instructions. It doesn't need it. The puzzles are easy enough to figure out and you have lovely music playing throughout which is also part of the story.

This is a very short but heartfelt point-and-click puzzle game. It was worth playing, but didn’t stick with me in the same way that a longer or more complex game would be able to. Still, I don’t think my time was wasted here.

she´s better than me because i would´ve just died too

Un juego de puzles precioso sobre el amor, la pérdida trágica del mismo, el duelo y la superación, pero también de saber atesorar los momentos grandiosos, las alegrías y los recuerdos que jamás nos abandonarán.

my ass was sobbing by the time thr credits rolled

Sweet puzzle game revolving around love, loss and moving on. Can be finished in under 2 hours.

One of my favorite games to date. It has a beautiful story, captivating music, and amazing art. It's the perfect length, not too short but not too long. The puzzles are a little challenging but I've never been good at puzzles anyway. I'm a sucker for romance and heart wrenching stories and this one hit home. It has a bittersweet progression to it that doesn't make you feel blindsided. Will keep recommending this game to everyone, always. Definitely recommend buying the soundtrack and artbook on steam too!

Sweet and pretty little game, very simple but well executed

Touching story and beautiful art style.

good little narrative puzzle game- made me emotional

Just finished up When The Past Was Around, another absolutely stellar game from Mojiken and Toge. A gorgeous, heartfelt, narrative puzzler with incredible artwork and fabulous music. Can't recommend this short, memorable experience enough.

a arte é muito bonita, a trilha sonora é linda, os puzzles são rapidos e bem fáceis, mas divertidos do mesmo jeito.

So basic, that I couldn't stop yawning. Trying to tell an emotional story, it fails to deliver in all moments. The art style does not safe it, and even only 2 hours long, I regret spending them with this game.

It's a beautiful point-and-click adventure where you chase an violin-playing owlman. The story shows the protagonist and owl's relationship: how they met and bonded. The art style is fantastic. It feels like you're reading a storybook.

This short experience handles difficult subjects in a better light than games I played this year that I will not mention. One of the studios that helped with this game, Toge Productions, has a handful of games that are on my wishlist still. I may have to bump those further up the list.

It touched me in some way, but it is way to short, I think the reception would be better if it would let us spend some more time with the characters, get to know them better and let them grow on us.

A short and bittersweet puzzler about coping with grief. A lovely soundtrack guides you through the touching two hour insight into the characters mind.

Que jogo bonitinho, historia emocionante e arte foda. Muito massa a franjudinha e o cara coruja

A rather easy puzzle adventure game. Beautiful graphics and music. The story and theme are quite common in recent indie games. a new life. came out a few months earlier and told basically the same story.

LOVED LOVED LOVED the graphics, music, and story!

Some of the puzzles I begrudgingly needed to look up videos to help get me through it, but wow. A very pleasant surprise this was!

My only complaint, is there isn't much replay value here.

To my achievement hunters, this is a very quick and easy 100%!

Cute short games. Puzzles were straight-forward.
