I honestly have nothing bad to say about this game, it's so captivating from the story to the music, plus the puzzles aren't that difficult that it takes the fun out of it. The artstyle on top is absolutely beautiful and I would play this again :D it only takes about an hour and a half to complete, I highly recommend this if you haven't played it already <3

A beautiful and short narrative game exploring love, loss, and how we move on. The art direction and sound track are really beautiful. But the game didn't leave as strong of an impact on me as I had hoped. I will acknowledge, I played this game shortly after playing Florence for the first time, which left me devastated. So there is some slight comparison influencing my rating of this game. I still strongly recommend When The Past Was Around!
A tale about grief and keeping the memory of a loved one alive. A beautiful point-and-click puzzle game with a gorgeous art style. A short and bittersweet narrative that doesn't have any dialogue or written instructions. It doesn't need it. The puzzles are easy enough to figure out and you have lovely music playing throughout which is also part of the story.
One of my favorite games to date. It has a beautiful story, captivating music, and amazing art. It's the perfect length, not too short but not too long. The puzzles are a little challenging but I've never been good at puzzles anyway. I'm a sucker for romance and heart wrenching stories and this one hit home. It has a bittersweet progression to it that doesn't make you feel blindsided. Will keep recommending this game to everyone, always. Definitely recommend buying the soundtrack and artbook on steam too!
Just finished up When The Past Was Around, another absolutely stellar game from Mojiken and Toge. A gorgeous, heartfelt, narrative puzzler with incredible artwork and fabulous music. Can't recommend this short, memorable experience enough.

It's a beautiful point-and-click adventure where you chase an violin-playing owlman. The story shows the protagonist and owl's relationship: how they met and bonded. The art style is fantastic. It feels like you're reading a storybook.
This short experience handles difficult subjects in a better light than games I played this year that I will not mention. One of the studios that helped with this game, Toge Productions, has a handful of games that are on my wishlist still. I may have to bump those further up the list.
