Unbalanced as hell. I had fun with it back in Elementary school. It's just ok, all duels, so better farm for good cards.

This game is evil.
You're stuck with a shitty deck, while every random fucking NPC has a competent deck with every staple in existence.
You can't even play something decent until late game and synchros are basically post game stuff.
The clone battle at the end is absurd, 4 meta decks including tier 0 TeleDAD vs your playground random bullshit go deck (or Lightsworns).

If you want a Synchro deck in early game you can farm the naturia girl in front of the cardshop in Satellite, there's a chance she gifts you Naturia Beast after beating her. Get one or two of them, get some Earth support from the early game packs like Gigantes (it mixes super well with your Mecha Bunnies) and after a few hours you'll have an Earth Synchro deck with the super powerful Naturia Beast.

Gravekeepers are also an option and the kid inside the card shop can gift you Commandant and Necrovalley.

Or you can just test your luck and progress until the Lightsworn pack is unlocked and beat the game with them like most people.

Currently playing, really, but it makes me wish the "you're a guy in a TCG anime" genre of video game was more widespread outside of just Yugioh. That said, the boss fights are dope and actually hard and the deck building is legitimately fun, the packs are well-designed in terms of difficulty curve, the story is fine... all around banger game.

GAIA KNIGHT THE FORCE OF THE EARTH

I loved this game as a kid. I could play with cards I never had. That one part where you had to sneak out of the facility can go to hell tho.

-0.5 for the clone duels, if you know you know

The only thing in this game that made an impression on me were the duels against your clones before Jack Atlas where the last clone used Dark Armed Dragon deck against you, which was an offshoot of Tele-DAD, the best deck around when this game came out
More Yu-Gi-Oh! games should make one of the final challanges in the game be to duel against a watered down but still strong tier 1 or tier 0 deck of the meta. Like, imagine if there was a ZexaL World Championship 2014 game, and you had to fight Mizael before Don Thousand and he used Dragon Rulers. That would be very funny
