so fucking hard to rate because of how it plays but back in the day the multiplayer was a lot of fun and i do think it's the best actual story out of the GTAs so uh. 8/10!

Meu GTA favorito. O realismo proposto no game foi o grande xaveco que me faz gostar dele.

Unlike what V would become, IV is really fucking good and had the best cast of weird characters of any GTA game. Also gameplay is really simple and made online play fun as hell.

People who think this is better than V are out of their minds.

after playing V thought id give this a try but it really is a downgraded version of it

Very disappointed at how little this holds up.

in need of a revisit, but its enjoyable regardless. it definitely falls flat on of the things it attempts though

One of the least "lived in" feeling worlds that R* has ever created, while also being one of their best stories.

Played this mostly to mess around on online and with mods, will definitely finish the campaign someday.

the swing glitch is the best part

Niko is my favorite GTA protagonist, and the story and characters are just as great as SA's (probably even better), but everything else is just worse.

This is the point where Rockstar tried to go for realism and that means clunky, weighty movement and realistic car handling that feels really slow.

90% of the missions are just "go there and kill people" and there's very little side content, and even less of that is actually fun to do.

The physics are fun as fuck though and it's sad that GTA V nerfed them heavily.

Crushing commentary on the life of an American immigrant. Very deep.

great story but its like driving a lego brick

best story but there are wayyy too many car chase missions that are torturous when paired with the driving mechanics that are obviously from hell

My least favorite GTA, why so serious?

'Grand Theft Auto IV' is an insane trip through the criminal underworld, with hilarious dialogue and a lot of fun to be had in beating the hell out of strangers.

nIKO dO yOu wAnT tO Go boWLinG????????????

i've played more multiplayer in this than maybe any other game

best story and character development in any GTA. liberty city is ugly, dark, and unforgiving but it's all part of the experience. the realistic-ish weight to the driving and gameplay, while often maligned, are also key factors in the experience.

I got so bored playing this game I spawned a cop car to do police missions.

Goddamn, what a good game. I really love the dark atmosphere of Liberty City, and how it perfectly mirrors the dark tones of the main storyline. IV arguably has the best GTA radio, maybe only Vice City topped it musically. The main theme is absolutely amazing though. In the whole GTA series, IV has the best characters and plot, with Niko being one of the best game protagonists of all time.

Superb narrative, disappointing open world. Multiplayer is a bunch of fun with friends.

I've played like maybe three hours of the story, this game might as well have been online only for me
