I need to play more, but the lack of a manual and a bad UI means it's hard to understand how this game or how deep (if at all) the class management is.

The game at times seems to force you to specific things which can be a bore when you're trying to do it the other way. Bad UI, and unlike other games of it's kind it doesn't have any interesting background story.
