dropped this game after they fired a leading artist because she was being harassed for thinking women shouldn't be filmed in public places. A+ in public relations, project moon. A+

Wish the gameplay was better as the rest is 10/10

Coming back here after finishing Canto VI to say that I think this game has been proving itself as a masterclass in writing. It would be disingenuous not to mention the incredible soundtrack, artwork, combat system and everything that makes up the game. But I especially want to highlight how good the writing is. Observant players get rewarded at every corner, just as much as they will be surprised by the places the writing is willing to go to.
With every update, this game has been raising the bar by leaps and bounds. Every chapter is great and a vast improvement over the previous. It's exciting to watch where this game has been and will be going.

Original review:
Story so far is incredibly good. The characters are great and you can tell the writers know how to deal with ensemble casts and put a lot of love into the world they've built so far. Just for that I recommend getting into this.
Dont wanna be a "gacha good" guy, but the gacha aspects arent really pervasive so far. The devs give out apology gifts every 2 seconds for every blunder and not getting your favourite identity doesn't feel like too much of a loss because of your limited and well balanced cast. Gacha generally still sucks tho.

After finishing chapter 3 by the time of this writing so far I love the characters and the how it's going about it. I love all the direct references and connections from the other games applied in this one. The writing goes for melancholic and somber atmosphere but isn't afraid to touch to a lighthearted side for not just the sinner interactions, other characters too; it hits in the right areas for me to say that Project Moon still has got it.

In addition with this time of writing, I haven't beat Library of Ruina yet but I am starting to understand the mechanics of it and when the game's difficulty curve is increasing. Which is why I have to comment that I think this gameplay is a downgrade from Library of Ruina's gameplay. At its core it's purely rng if you want to activate mechanics like absolute resonance or, in general, winning clashes, you do have some control but however you must work with you're dealt with in the end to try to tip the battle in your favor. It's not entirely rng though with the addition of EGOs that just straight win clashes in the game (most of the time). I like Abnormality battles better because you can actually target enemies you want to target and clash with; Abno combat is much more interesting and fun. Project Moon did say that they will adjust the combat mechanics of Limbus Company so I have hopes that it will improve the game and gives the players more options of control in a fact like forcing EGO corrosion as a risk/reward system.

Good game--I don't really care about the gacha at all. Project Moon still has that quality I love within the franchise and I hope we get to see more amazing moments from the sinners' arcs like Ishmael.

Koreans didn't exist until this game did. Good Gacha for once

FIRST GAME TO MAKE ONE LIMBILLION DOLLARS

Limbus Company is fantastic, both as a successor to Library of Ruina and as an entry point into Project Moon's dark, horrifying yet entrancing universe known as "the City."

As of this writing, Chapters 1-3 and the event "Hell's Chicken" are out. The gameplay is beginner friendly but there's enough variation between enemies and higher difficulty stages to keep veterans wanting to play. The art and music are both still going strong, going together with incredibly compelling and, at times very funny, writing. There's a lot of intrigue and also a lot of laughs, and y'know, none of it somehow feels out of place in this cutthroat world with this cast of sad clowns. Incredible. Also, it's worth noting that even though it introduces a large cast to you right off the bat, all the characters have distinct personalities that all somehow bounce off of each other very well.

I think as a gacha, it's very kind too; you can actually grind in mirror dungeons and save up enough character specific currency in game to exchange for the character or ego (cool special attack) you want. Project Moon also gives out free gacha currency whenever they have to perform maintenance because of a bug, so it's not a huge loss if you can't immediately pull who you want as you can probably get it if you really try (if it's not locked behind an event).

If you want to get into this franchise I'd normally point you to Lobotomy Corporation, but I think Limbus does a great job at hooking people, and even if you don't want to see the other entries, you can still enjoy this one just fine. Project Moon is probably going to keep people playing this for a while, and I can't wait to see what they're going to do next with this entry and whatever theyre going to fund using the profits from this game lol

Been several hours stuck in the final bossfight of Canto III.
Game's pretty well designed, difficulty spike is as vertical as you'd expect from Project Moon. Weirdly enough it has had some glitches going on for me, but it's been fun. Story is pretty well written so far too, probably ProjMoon's peak.

Probably the only gacha game to ever exist that I don't feel complete rejection for, so it gets credit for that too. Got probably one of the strongest IDs in the game without paying a single cent.

A gacha game is a gacha game and I don't buy the hype about this somehow being meaningfully different mechanically from any others. (And the fanbase gets obnoxious about its story differences, which I think are also overstated.) But it's good fun for a while, which is all you can ever really hope for out of these things. Plus it has a killer aesthetic.

Between this and the yet-to-be-released Reverse:1999 we're in for a good year for gacha games for weird people. I say that's a good thing.

Also: something something Faust mommy something

I'm at the point where I've done everything in the game so far. Refraction Railway, events, story, etc. I'm very impressed. Gacha games can never really grab me for long periods but this one certainly has had my attention. I'm looking forward to seeing how this game develops.

i was kinda lukewarm on this game and then chapter 3 happened and took this game all the way to the top

Star rail wishes it was as good as limbus #LIMBUSSYSWEEP

gacha bad, Gregor good

Seriously, like how could you enjoy a game like this??? Like it clearly De-Values Everything the Developers have Done up to this point For Corporate Greed??? Fan-service??? Regardless of what it is it will be Follow suit like Dragula. All Lost Not Found

definitely feels more like the gacha aspect is so the company opens itself to a busy market than abusing the system for greed of money. I have beat chapter 3 with mostly the base units and ignore the gacha and daily grinding for the most part. Very enjoyable story and characters. I will keep playing as long as the philosophy stays this.

i have not played ruina or lobocorp so i have like zero clue wht the deeper universal lore here is but im enjoying this. the gameplay is the most ive ever had to think in a long while

firstly: combat. the gameplay itself is rather overwhelming for beginners. the ui can pile up and become a wall of text one would rather not read. but once you sift through that and are able to understand the basics of the game beyond color matching (which is not even an optimal way to play) then learning to strategize and build teams becomes extremely fun. simply put, project moon wants you to read.

the artwork and characterization of the sinners is simply fascinating. the cast is rather small for a gacha game, but this small cast has an interesting dynamic that makes it easy to love each character in their own way, even if there is not much content of them at the moment. and as per usual, project moon builds a compelling world around their characters. they very easily mix comedy with adult topics, and the pacing never seems off because of it. the story is also easy to comprehend to those who have not played the previous games, lobotomy corporation and library of ruina. however, it is still recommended that people watch playthroughs of these at the very least because its predecessors are fantastic games and stories in their own right.

the game is not perfect, which is something to expect from a small company of about 30 people (and 10 of those manage hamhampangpang, the cafe). there are many bugs; however, they generously give out gacha currency so it is easy to overlook. grinding can be tedious for those with short attention spans, but generally the win rate button is put to good use for those easier mob battles. the current event as of now, hell's chicken, lacks something that most gacha games have: daily tasks to receive extra event items. it is easy to tell that they are new managing a gacha game, as the games released before this were standalone steam games. despite all of these critiques, the game is still playable and enjoyable.

it is also probably one of the most generous gachas i have ever seen. disregarding the gacha currency given after every maintenance update, one can obtain a character by grinding and "sparking" them (it is called dispensing in game). in fact, some say it is easier and more profitable to use the gacha currency to replenish stamina this way. not to mention how feasible it is to get through the story with just the base units you are given. their battlepass is only about $11 USD for extra rewards over the course of three or four months. but even then, it is easy to survive without the battlepass because it gives quite a few EGOs to the player anyways. any battlepass-exclusive items will be available two seasons afterwards with the dispenser as well, which does not prey upon one's fear of missing out. they are still profiting quite a bit despite how cheap and generous their gacha is. there is something so refreshing about their business model since the company only wants to make more money to expand upon their games' lore.

i do hope that in the future they implement more quality of life fixes that would definitely make the game easier on newer players, but it is still worth the play as of right now. one limbillion tickets or whatever have a great day everyone

i think the biggest compliment i can give to Limbus Company is that it feels like a proper game with gacha mechanics just added on top of it for an easy profit

Presentation, Gameplay, Sprite Work, Music, Story, Voice Acting, Lore everything is top notch on always keeping you interest and wanting more, even with all the staples of gachas that include battle passes, locking superior characters on a gacha banner, obligatory grind to have your characters at top condition and events that can get egregious with the amount the time you need to spend to earn all the rewards

if your body already adapted to the gameplay loop of gacha games, this game will feel like a dream to you

also Ryoshu is best girl

the least gacha-like gacha game ever made. project moon continues to deliver with its characters, world and writing, but the story is held back by an episodic gacha game structure. gameplay is much easier to understand and pick up than other projmoon titles and the resource grind isn't tedious at all.

unfortunately, it's still a gacha game, so better-than-the-average-gacha game is as good of a review as it'll ever get

"KIERAN WHAT HAPPENED" "BUS GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!". i am autistic about this game

Someday, I want to hold Gregor while he gives birth.

Easily my favorite gacha game. Out of a sample size of one. Go play LobCorp and Library of Ruina too - Project Moon is GOATed
