This was really fun to get into when it first released. There's a bunch of events that are random upon starting a new playthrough, so seeing new things became like an easter egg hunt. It's a short meta horror game that doesn't stick around for too long. Probably the scariest moment for me was the Sayori zoom when you click out of the window. It's pretty good, though I think people who like this game for the character writing and not the spooky moments are kinda missing the point. It's a horror spin on dating sim anime tropes, and the dark character plots aren't meant to develop them as much as its to unnerve you and show you the game is getting corrupted.

This game took me by surprise. Like most people I went into it knowing something was up and it still managed to surprise me. I think the fact that the scares are randomised each playthrough really helps to keep things fresh, along with the fact there are multiple routes depending on what girl you decide to talk to. Plus the way you have to actually interact with the game files really helps with the emersion too.
I never thought that i would enjoy a waifu simulator so much lol! Can't say much about the game because it's short and would spoil the surprise. But i can say that all of the characters are quite charming, the plot is very cringe and funny at the same time. At the end of the game, there's a game design thing that i had NEVER seen in a game before, very shocking by the way. Doki Doki Literature Club is available for free on steam. I finished it in 3 hours, please give this very fun experience a chance, give it a go. A beautiful surprise!
