mutilating their bodies in half introduced 10 year old me to the concept of body horror

GooeyScale: 60/100

the gimmick made me always want a Skylanders game where you swap every body part to make your own which made kid me so satisfied when they made imaginators. I remember hating the trailer of this game as a kid.

They’re all so awesome, but this is the best one.

The first time kid me experienced a 4th wall break, good times...

Whenever I decide to go back to this game I'm crushed by how bored I am. Figures are still pretty cool though.

Runs like shit, should not have been released on the Wii

From a technical perspective, there's a lot about Skylanders that really sucks. The "Toys to Life" gimmick can be pretty intrusive at times, and even as a kid I realized how scummy of a business model it was. Not to mention, it must've sucked for all the Spyro fans to see his name reduced to one of many in a game made primarily to sell toys.

That said, I do remember them being pretty fun, and Swap Force was my favorite. The gameplay was pretty standard 7th-gen kid's game fare, but it made my 10-year-old brain happy. Plus, there is a lot of charm in the characters, and they're backed by some pretty solid voice acting. I just wish some of these ideas were tied to something a little more...ethical.

Gimmicky at its best and boring the rest of the time.

Fun, but not as good as giants. Its a neat gimmick but I kind of forget everything about it.

Here's where I started getting annoyed at buying stuff.

this game was prime skylanders.

Not as good as Giants in my opinion but still a fun game

The swapping mechanic was fun but this one didnt captivate me as much as the other games did, i dont know why

sometimes you'll catch me gettin low-key sentimental over toys to life. It's nothing ha ha I just miss them like low key though.

The moment where 10-year-old me realized that video games can be crushingly mediocre. Also, that I really should've bought an HD console at that point, because holy crap is the Wii port a smeary mess. At least I can plug the Portal of Power into CEMU now, but who wants to replay Skylanders: Swap Force in their college years?

4.5☆ - Swap Force is where the franchise started going from niche to cash grab, and the swap mechanic was cool for the first 5 minutes before it got a little annoying.

Played this game when I was a kid, I think skylanders just went hard in general because I remember this game was super fun :) I was a turbo jetvac main 💪 bird man fr fr

Skylanders always makes me smile the games are so calm and in my opinion swap force is the best even tho I played spyro adventure and almost completed giants and haven't even played trap team and imaginators

Why did I play the Wii version?

This came out when I was still in my Skylanders phase. A lot of fun at the time. I remember playing it with my best friend at the time. I remember I had the not so good Wii version on a CRT but regardless, I still have good memories.
Also the idea behind the swap force figures is just great.

I hated this game when I was little because it looks complete dogshit on the Wii, on the PS3 and Xbox 360 it's actually a fine looking game and probably the best on the series still a lot of nostalgia talking.
The story is simple, very childish but works and the Swap Force gimmick was my favorite by far on the series, sure it's a cash grab but it's a ton of fun
