Borderlands 2: The Video Gaming Experience is a slightly acquired taste - but there is an undeniable flow here once you figure it out. With the Diablo influence finally finding its feet, the game walks the line between Zany and Serious in both its combat and narrative in a way thats riveting and compelling. The sad truth is: Gearbox will probably never write a character as good as Handsome Jack (or most of the cast) ever again.
In fact (hot take) it was probably essential that Borderlands 2 was written with a largely comedic lean, because the unserious attitude helps you feel less seriously about the games cheap feeling gameplay. The games looter-churn means youll be obligated to use guns that suck in a game where the shooting already kind of sucks, the artstyle is pretty but also very poorly assembled and buggy - it all feels less irritating (key word being “less”) when the world is already absurd and illogical.

I really wanted to like this saga, but honestly besides some VERY specific points, the humor is bad, and the massive loot based gameplay it's awful.
Looks good as fuck tho, cell shading is the best 3D videogame aesthetic.

God this game is sensory overload. So much text and numbers on screen that I couldn't focus on any of it. I also found the world design incredibly busy too so I kept getting lost. I'm sure it's fun to play if your brain is wired differently to mine, I just couldn't get on with it.

Finsihed the main campaign but struggling to finish the DLC.
This is apparently the best one in the franchise but i feel like its kinda overrated.
The claim it has "17.75 million" different weapon's in the game is complete BS maybe in stat's but it will not take long before you start to see gun models repeating. The gameplay becomes super repetitive sadly but the characters hold this game up.

I have lost an uncountable number of hours to this game. Easily one of my most played games of all time across console and PC. Its a beautifully broken mess that is just too much fun to play around in.
Hilarious and well made!
Played coop with a friend, really liked it. It's fun, although sometimes the level system is boring, the story pays off in the end.

Was really surprised how much this sucked when I revisited it a year or 2 ago. Wasn't even dumb fun really, just dumb. Accidentally completely obliterated my own nostalgia for playing this with the boys on xbl as a kid oopsies.

It's one of those games where the more you play it the more you hate it. It's a great game I played too much of.
A gross and nihilistic masterpiece that I can't help but enjoy. Furthermore, the creativity shown in its wild, violent, and eccentric cast stands apart from that of most games.
