What I would consider the peak of the series, at least the "old gen MH experience" Dos is a completely iterative game from the last, including pretty much everything but a G rank and uses it's old systems to really push in new ideas for the series that's still yet to be seen anywhere else. A lot of the mechanics has honestly been refined real well. With the excellent English patch made by BREAK ARTS it's a very engaging experience to play through it's solo mode all the way. It's online portion is no slouch either, but definitely still misses some marks from the last but I think the new stuff will carry it through.
It's no secret this game was rushed, with all the implications it brought along. But this is a title where I believe it's strong vision really makes it shine though if you play it at it's level.

As mentioned, there is an excellent patch to make the game wholly in English by BREAK ARTS, and MhOldschool has a server running for you to get the whole experience.
