Played this through Xbox game pass. I played it with my brother quite a while back so I don't remember all the things exactly how they were. But it was a really nice co-op game with a solid story. Game mechanics were pretty simple if I remember correctly. The game would just show what button to press etc.
However im not sure if there are multiple endings to the game. I only got one. There was a fight between both the main characters in the end and the character my brother played(the one with a family) died. The other guy was actually an undercover cop

I finished this game in one sitting with a friend. It took us about six hours. Good value for the money spent, especially considering that only one of us had to buy the game and could share it online. A Way Out is 100% focused on coop-gameplay. There is no way to play this game alone or with a computer controlled partner. This leads to some bonding moments between the players and a real team-work feeling over the course of the whole game because every level is fully committed to being a coop-experience. The gameplay itself is kinda mid though. It’s mostly generic third-person-action adventure gameplay with some climbing, jumping and light puzzle solving. The crime story and characters are pretty good and there is a really well done twist towards the end which makes the whole experience worthwhile. And there just aren’t any other games like this which makes it a unique experience.
I knew this was a good game when I drew a mustache on that one family’s portrait in the farmhouse, and in response, my friend erased it. This action created a tug of war, which resulted in me adding and him erasing the mustache repeatedly throughout the course of the level.
That was until finally, I trapped him in the middle of a co-op platforming puzzle and made him watch as I slowly walked back to the portrait to draw the mustache on before returning to finish the co-op puzzle, causing the level to end and emerging from the mustache war victorious as he wallowed in a pool of agonizing defeat.
I also got to beat his ass at connect four and fucking kill him at the end of the game.

It Is decent game. But It is short. It is about 7 hours to complete the whole game but the story I will say is pretty interesting. I will say that the idea of the game is pretty call. Of starting off in prison and so on.......
What I will say is do not spend money to play this game. U are better of trying it on gamepass or at least wait for it to go on sale for cheap

I really used to like this game back when it came out. I played it twice back in the day. How disappointed I was to come back and see just how bad this game is.
The script is absolutely non-sensical, especially the twist at the end, and the dialogue is both incredibly poorly delivered and written. People simply don't talk like this - I don't know how this got off the cutting room floor sounding this stilted. The choppy pace as you just teleport between set pieces really doesn't work either, and the less said about how much this game rips off other works the better.
The gameplay is a mixing pot of a lot of half baked ideas. I must admit it is the sole thing that still kind of holds up in my eyes. It doesn't play well, there aren't many good ideas, but it is varied and silly enough to at least remain funny.
And that's about the best praise I can give this game. It is definitely a so-bad-it's-good type game. The awful animations, contrived situations, poor script and intense melodrama make for an experience to be laughed at, not engaged with.
