this game taught me to enjoy the little things in life

life changing, man

Not a lot of games - or any media really - can conclude decade-long stories in a satisfying way. This game did. I honestly like it more than Shadowbringers.
The Void saga afterwards was kinda piss though but gameplay wise was still top notch. I also prefer the content of this expansion over the others - I hate Eureka and Bozja so much.

i don't think i can describe in words what an incredible experience ffxiv was. i am not (or at least wasn't) an mmo person but this is maybe one of my favorite games ever and i can't wait for dawntrail

Base MSQ: 10/10

Pacing issues aside, that last zone and the finale is something else. They'll never be another ending like it. An absolute rollercoaster. You'll cry, you'll laugh, you'll cheer. A final act for the ages as the curtain draws down on the play, as a certain character would put it.

A perfect conclusion to FFXIV's decade long story.

An amazing conclusion to the current story, i am beyond excited to see what the future holds for this game

i found out that you can review each individual patch so redoing this one for just 6.0

if not for the incredible emotional payoff brought about by the story (yes, I AM a sucker for the same 3 songs being played over and over again in cutscenes but with a sad piano melody this time), this expansion would be a 2/5. completely throws the entire world into the garbage in favor of a blank slate for 7.0 in literally every aspect. there is countless plot threads that COULD be explored in greater detail which are dismissed with no effort. every mystery of the world was solved in the blink of an eye. incredibly disappointing

dungeons are universally "Walk Down A Hallway And Pull 2 Packs Of Monsters Two Or Three Times And Then Fight A Boss, Repeat This Three Times", trials are... fine? and the first raid tier has some of the best armor/weapon designs in the game. all in all, each individual part of endwalker is either some of the best there has ever been for XIV, or the absolute worst. and as we get further into the individual patches, we lean more towards "the absolute worst"

but again, good emotional payoff and I am a sucker for that

"No more shall man have wings to bear him to Paradise. Henceforth, he shall walk."

"As fragmented, imperfect beings, yours is a never-ending quest.
A quest to find your purpose, knowing your end is assured.
To find the strength to continue, when all strength has left you.
To find joy, even as darkness descends...
...and amidst deepest despair, light everlasting."

Maybe the real endwalker was the test of your reflexes

Final Fantasy XIV's Grand Finale.
An amazing closure for an amazing videogame, it ties everything so well, from the cryptic scenes about gods to the political interests between nations.

It has extremely touching that had me sobbing all the time, and the music is even better if that was possible at all, what Soken did really had no sense.

It also has one of my all time favourite characters ever, Venat! Who has one of my favourite sequences and message from the whole game and perhaps from even gaming!

It has some filler, which is sadly understandable in this MMO format, some questionable decisions and some pacing issues again, I'd probably say that ShB was their peak, but still, Endwalker delivers an extremely good story and message that none of us will never forget.

A beautiful and grand conclusion. Base game story was great, patch story was absolutely dreadful, and content outside of the raids was very middling. Doubled down on class homogenization we got in Shadowbringers which I didn't like very much. Hoping for Dawntrail to bring it all back.

FF14 is the best mmorpg at the moment.
It has an immense amount of good content, great lore, the most complex raids and the best soundtrack of any mmorpg.
The only downside I would put is that it can be overwhelming for newbies right now by the amount of things available to the game, but if you adapt is amazing.

everything in this expansion is either the most braindead normal mode content or Oops All Limit Cuts with nothing in between. i hope to god the people who used to make EX trials get to make some part of dawntrail because if i have to do another 24-man where the boss does a 20 second windup just for a knockback mechanic i'm not gonna make it to 8.0.

Playing Shadowbringers and Endwalker back-to-back within the span of a month has done irreversible and devastating damage to my psyche. I'm not sure how one can top this run in future expansions, but I guess we'll see.

The plot lacked some depth to me, and a lot of actions felt like they were unnecessary or lacked proper explanation. More personally, I wish we got to see more of Elpis, this zone had so much potential for further exploration and stories. Still, the expansion was very enjoyable, and is overall carried by the charming dialogue, beautiful ost, and the emotional payoff of this journey.

I now embrace the eternal Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus brainrot.

if i was there there wouldn't have even been an endsinger

This game and this expac changed my life. Like there's a certain experience that just cant be found anywhere else than in mmos. Playing this on release and seeing discussion revolving different parts of the story, talking about things with friends, travelling the journey with new friends you've made along the way; its just magical. All of the memories you make, the challenges you overcome, and the growth you have, on top of just having a fantastic game overall is amazing. Endwalker specifically really feels like the culmination of the entire final fantasy franchises lifespan come into appreciation of its players. Will probably forever remain my favorite game.
