Lost save file, will need to restart sometime

Faithful remake of the original that adds new dialogue, new locations, new puzzles, and updated models.
Ib is always my favorite and despite being wounded that this now costs money it was worth every single penny.

This was an absolute classic RPG game back in the early 2010s. I finally got to experience after the remaster and I honestly loved the experience.

The game follows the protagonist, Ib, who found herself in an alternate dimension in the form of a grotesque art gallery basically. The plot is honestly amazing for a horror RPG game and you really connect with the few characters you will encounter in this game. The game also has a lot different endings depending on what you decided to do during the game - each with a different twist of events.

The puzzle aspect of the game is also very well implemented. They require you to check around your surrounding and connect the dots yourself. Unlike many modern games, the solution of the puzzles are often not very clear at the start but will become apparent as you try to put 2 and 2 together. I am usually not a very big puzzle person but I did find the whole experience to be very enjoyable.

I honestly don't really find the game to be scary but more so fascinating in an aspect. It's like exploring a weird artistic world filled with hazards. The game does lean more towards the psychological horror I think and there will be chase sequences here and there. I really like ambience of the game as the soundtrack manages to capture that unsettling and mysterious feel for the gallery.

The game is very short if you are not fixated on doing multiple endings. There is a gallery mode in the remaster that encourages you to explore and replay the game. But you can only replay a game a certain amount of times before being so familiar with everything that you just got bored.

This is a very short yet extremely charming RPG game. I am really enjoyed it and would recommend if you are into RPG maker horror games.

A cult classic for a reason. I've thought about Ib since I was a teenager, and I have gender envy for Garry.
