this just isn't a sonic game in any way, trying new things isn't bad but it wasn't well executed, even with bugs and lack of polish aside. it's a shame because the animation was some of the best in the series and the devs were clearly super rushed :(

It's kind of remarkable that something that posed this much potential to permanently destroy a brand could come out 20 years into its lifespan.
