A cool but very janky 2D adventure game. Main draw IMO is that it's got this big mega-dungeon that you gradually unlock tools to traverse deeper into. But while the exploration elements are cool, the combat, which is a fairly big part of the core experience, is pretty awful here. You have a fun but really slow to charge spin dash, a bunch of mostly ineffective magic attacks, and the basic punch, which is really terrible. It's an overall very difficult game, and often in really frustrating ways.

The story's ambitious but not particularly impactful, possibly due to the very rough translation. It does have pretty cool worldbuilding, though, mainly thanks to the above-average OST and very unique style for the levels. Shame that the actual sprites and 3D models (The game switches to a 3D version of itself during boss battles, which is a really cute trick), are sort of not great for the platform, but it's an interesting and very charming package as a whole. Possibly worth a shot for those curious, but not exactly a must play, in my opinion.
