Hogwarts legacy is a game for true Harry Potter fans.

Good things:
- World/map
- Story
- Relationship side quests
- Animations
- Combat
- Minigames
- Beasts mechanics
- Special mission for every house
- Puzzles

Bad things:
- Memory leak (random stuttering even with high pc specs)
- Spell learning mechanics
- No morality system
- Small bugs

World/map:
The world its self is very detailed, especialy the Hogwarts castle and its surroundings.
The rest of the world is decent, even tho its clear it isnt equal to the Hogwarts castle and its surroundings.
There are a lot of puzzles, dungeons ect to explore, plus some collectibles which i suprisingly enjoyed collecting.
Unlike some games, those collectibles were actaully worth it collecting, thanks to the rewards.

Story:
To be honest, the main story its self is kinda mid.
Dont get me wrong, it isnt for sure bad, i just expereinced a lot of better storyes in games.
However, if you are a big Harry Potter fan, i think its not hard to enjoy it.

Relationship side quests:
Ironically, the “Sebastians” quest line was atleast for me better than the whole main story.
What iam trying to say, is that the devs actually put some effort into side quests.
So if you are planning to play this game, dont miss out on those!
They also give you some in game rewards for completing.

Animations:
All i can say for this aspect, is that animations are very cool.
I guess you need to make your opinion about this aspect kinda on your own, but still i liked it.

Combat:
Combat in this game is also decent.
It for sure isnt the best of the best, but i personally enjoyed it.
I think theres a little something to it to think about spell comboes, potions, plants ect.
For more casual gamers, it isnt hard to pick up and on easy difficulty its basically free.

Minigames:
As with animations, all i can say for minigames is they are not bad for this small kind of side content.
I guess you again need to experience it for your self.

Beasts mechanics:
Beasts are important side of the wizarding world, so they included interesting things for people who love interacting with them.
For example, you can: catch beast, feed beast, collect beasts, brush beast and with some of them even fly.
However, to unlock this option in the game, it takes some hours to get to the quest which unlocks it.

Special mission for every house:
Maybe iam only the few poeple who like this feature, but there is a special mission for every house. Which gives you the motivation to come back.

Puzzels:
Puzzels in this game are kinda cool, fun and most importantly (atleast for me) not stupidly hard.
There are kinda a lot of puzzels with different kinds of difficulty around the world, so if you are into those, i think you would like it.

Memory leak (random stuttering even with high pc specs):
This is very unfortunate for this game.
To explain my problem, i played this game on rtx 4060 and intel i5 13gen.
Which is more than enough for this game.
However, around 30 hours into this game, it randomly started stuttering on random places in random times for about 20 seconds.
From what i red, this is a long existing problem on pc and a lot of people with similar pc specs experienced this.

Spell learning mechanics:
This isnt like a big problem or something, but i feel i need to point this out.
Its just kinda lame, thats all.
All you need to do to learn a spell is to complete an assigment, press a few buttons on your keyboard and thats it.

No morality system:
This is i feel a bigger problem, because i dont think its hard to do, especially on the low level of effort.
Bascailly you can kill any student in hogwarts, and no one actually cares.
I think that this makes the world kinda dull and “empty”.

Small bugs:
In my whole 53 hour playtrough i experienced a few buggs.
All of them thankfully werent game breaking, they just were funny.
For example: npc with open mouth not talking when it should have talked (happened only 1 time), spinning dead spider (also only 1 time) and so on.

Overall:
I think its a great game, and even better Harry Potter game.
If you are a Harry Potter fan, i highly recommend it, especially on sale even with the kind of “expensive” price tag of 30 euros.

9/10

(Copied from my steam review)

The number 1 game for Harry Potter fans. Definitely captures the spirit and vibe of the wizarding world. The story wasn't anything spectacular but it was enjoyable. Gameplay was surprisingly amazing with customization being decent too. Its a shame there isn't quidditch.
I also wasn't a fan of the game requiring you be a certain level to progress the main story.

my brother got this for me as a gift(didn’t ask for it) still it was entertaining but the graphics on the ps4 are funny sometimes, i wish the character customization was better

I made playboi carti so that was fun but I hate Harry Potter so I couldn't get more than like 2 hours in the game

Open world is pretty, but kind of empty and I wish more of the game took place in the castle. However, whipping around on your broom is fun and the spell casting is a blast, especially trying out different combos on enemies. Customization is nice as well with the Room of Requirement being a bright spot. Overall, a good jumping off point for HP open world games that is hard carried by HP being a fun world/universe.

This is like a cool Disney ride through Hogwarts and it's neighborhood. You can see the sights, creatures, and references to your favorite moments from Harry Potter... and that's about it. The combat gets boring within like 3 hours, the story is honestly just an excuse for you to visit the aforementioned cool sights. The open world is RIDICULOUSLY bloated with shitty open-world collectibles. Overall it's nice enough of a time for me to recommend it, especially if you are into Harry Potter, but this game overall is really nothing special.

Really better than it has any right to be from a studio that hasn't attempted anything at this scale.

Solid story (nothing too deep here), good puzzles, and surprisingly captivating gameplay for a magic-focused title. However, this game really shines in its world-design, while exploring Hogwarts it's really impressive to see how much detail, and small-mini puzzles and hidden areas are crammed into the world. Anyone who's a completionist or exploration-focused player will really enjoy what they've put together here.

Highly recommend picking this one up regardless of if you've paid attention to the Harry potter series beforehand.

the best harry potter game but quite repetitive

très répétitif mais le monde et l'embiance c'est WOW

this game is fine but with the pitch being about living at hogwarts its not at all immersive enough. none of these people feel alive

i take ONE 45 minute shit and suddenly my 45 minute game trial is over? :((

Amazing world design but overall gameplay and story is underwhelming. This has a lot of potential if more emphasis is put on the story and a touch up on the gameplay to put more weight behind it.

GAMEPLAY: 9

HISTORIA: 8
GRAFICO: 8
NOTA FINAL: 8.5

pretty fun game but the open world can be a bit of a slog

All in all, just a really fun game. The combat really carries the game especially with all the repitition by the end. Chaining different spells never got old even when fighting the same enemies over and over agian. This game is very close to 10/10 but two things hold it back. The first is that the story doesn't center around hogwarts enough. Most of the game takes place in generic fields or dungeons and not in Hogwarts. They made perhaps the most spectacular structure in video game history with Hogwarts but didn't use it for gameplay other than a collectathon. The second issue is that there is no weight to player choice. The main character is too generic and doesn't ever feel like a real person. No parents, no backstory, no past life etc.

picture this....
world hunger ends, war is over, no more racism, all diseases cured, groceries are affordable, rent isn't 80% of peoples income, twitter is a good platform...
Sounds lovely right?

That is what could've been if open world games didn't exist.

If they got rid of 65% of this game and focused more on the combat elements, storyline, animating cutscenes, not copy/pasting sound effects from rdr2 etc it could've been good
