if i had a nickel for every time i broke a computer because playing the sims, i’d have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice

Much like the previous Sims games, The Sims 4 is a solid character/home building life simulation game. So if you enjoy that, it's great.
Though personally; felt the game to be very messy & rather unsure of itself.
In-game encouragement of purchasing DLC is also a turn off.
The forced internet connection requirements is also absurd.
Modding would improve many of the limitations of the game, though the developers overbearing beliefs regarding some mods is undesirable, & can put your accounts at risk of termination for having the audacity to do what you wish with your own private installation of the game.

Unlike The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, something about the game feels soulless and empty. Expansion Packs, Game Packs, etc. are incredibly limited in content compared to the previous two games and I always feel like I'm getting ripped off.

If we can have the fun social, item, etc. interactions of TS2 and TS3; the open world, story progression, and customizability of TS3; and the easy and flexible build mode and compatibility with weaker computers of TS4, that would be my perfect Sims game.

The base game just doesn't have much content at all. I haven't played any of the other Sims games (yet) but they all just look so much more appealing.

There is a lot more content in the Sims 4 but it's all through DLCs and microtransactions which are all way too overpriced for what they offer. Some packs are as expensive as full AAA titles and you only unlock horses or something.

Good game if you have a bottomless wallet I guess.

At least it gave us Jim Pickens.

Sims 3 is better, but this one is a bit more optimized. The monetization sucks though.

i genuinely don't know what i'd do without mods and cc, this game gets very boring after like a day. pretty fun making you and your friends and controlling them like puppets though😈

i was addicted to this game for about a week

Broken, unfinished, and boring as hell. You have to purchase a shit ton of expansion packs (which are obvious cash grabs) and download a bunch of mods to have a somewhat decent gameplay. I pirated all of the expansion packs yet I still feel like I've been scammed.

sucks in almost every way imaginable, im still playing it

its aight, gets boring after a while (without mods)

I still play it sometimes, but there is a big difference in the experience you get based on whether you have mods and packs or not. The base Sims 4 itself tends to be stale without them.

menos meia estrela pois todo homem de the sims é feio. :(

Ville ønske der var uendelig penge glitch i virkeligheden 😭

I can't stop playing this game, but listen. It's ass. It's nothing but an EA money grab. It barely works and I find myself frustrated about 50% of the time I'm playing it. Sims don't do what you want them to do, the world is devoid of life, and there's no real challenge.
Would I recommend it? Yes.

game is extremely boring without extensive modding and is constantly filled with game-breaking bugs, i'm looking at you wedding stories

Sims 4 brings out the worst of the sims franchise in terms of DLC.

the lag, terrible ai, and dlc pricing really just define this entry, huh?

Awesome and original game! It’s never not fun really, let’s be honest.

I made my Sim have sex with the Grim Reaper.

Thousands died for that cause.

It's a great game when you know how to get the DLC for free

eh, it was good except for the fact that IT BLEW UP MY MAC
