The party swapping system in this game is amazing. It allows your party to actually function as a unit during battles, and gives each party member a role even though not all of them (cough cough Lance) are suited for every fight. The expansion of the status effect system also makes combat deeper than ever. You can have a lot of fun building around different status effects and elements. You can customize difficulty on the fly too, so if things don't feel quite right you can adjust them. I'm fond of doing regular enemy fights on normal and boss fights on epic - it lets you flex the battle system against the bosses without making regular enemy waves drag out too long.

The game is also absolutely packed with content. It'll take a while to run out of things to do, and all of it rewards you with more skills and equipment to prepare for the next challenge so it always feels worth doing. And though the plot isn't particularly complex, the writing is cute and enjoyable, and I enjoy the party's interactions with each other as they banter their way through each dungeon. Every room is packed with people and things to check for flavor text, chests to loot for equipment upgrades, and even the occasional Zelda-esque block or floor puzzle.

Overall an extremely enjoyable game to play.
