Call me crazy but the way everybody seems to hate this game is a little much. I wouldn't call the car gimmick game ruining, and the minigames are just as good, if not better than some of the earlier entries.

Mario Party 9 shakes up the traditional Mario Party formula, focusing on linear boards where all players travel together in a vehicle. While this offers a faster-paced experience and introduces unique boss battles, it also reduces the strategic freedom and item-based chaos that defined earlier installments. The minigames are still fun, but the board design and focus on collecting mini-stars can feel overly focused on luck rather than skill. It's a decent party game if you're looking for something different, but likely won't satisfy Mario Party purists.
